The Kailadevi Temple is situated right on the banks of the Kalisil River. This place is 2 kilometers away from the North West of Kaila Village. The importance of Kailadevi Fair can be estimated from the simple fact that the fair is visited by almost 2 lakh devotees. Most of these people have to cover a distance of 15 kilometers to 20 kilometers by lying flat.

The amazing thing abut these tough ritual is that there are very devotees who take break during the ritual. This reflects the high amount of belief and respect for the religion. However, there are few devotees as well who take breaks due to physical constraints.

Visiting the Kaildadevi Fair will also be a great experience. The devotees visiting the fair also take part in a number of performances. They sing and dance to mark the occasion. These performances are mainly done in the courtyard of the temple. They usually sing praise songs and deity. Witnessing these various performances will be a great experience for the tourists as they will get a true flavor of the Rajasthani culture.

The Kailadevi Fair is in Karauli is usually celebrated in the month of Chaitra. According to English calendar, this usually falls between the months of March to April. However, in the year 2013, it is scheduled to fall on March 31.It is a grand festival for the people of Rajasthan as it the fair is celebrated through a period of fortnight.

Reaching Karauli is also a hassle free journey. Boarding a train to Hindaun will take you close to 48 kilometers from the fair. You can also avail the Shri Mahavirji railhead. Moreover, the temple is well connected through roads from Mahavirji and Hindaun. Bus services by the State Transport Department are also available to help the tourists in reaching the venue of the fair.
