Justifying the true image of the royal Mughal styled Shamiyana living, accommodations at this Amarya camp are divided into different suites. Quite similar in size and spacious, these suites are elegantly designed in color schemes of turquoise blue, gold, hot pink and purple.  Decorations like exquisite woven textiles, colorful furnishings and damask murals greatly add to the appeal of the rooms.

Although the decorations are same in all, yet the suites project a different mood and theme .  All the suites are well fitted with amenities of modern living and comfort. Best thing about the rooms is the availability of two additional saloons, which one can think of as extra sleeping areas. Amarya Shamiyana has an on-site restaurant, which offers delicious cuisines from around the world. Although the camp does not serve dinner, but the sumptuous brunch meals just make the day for the foodies. Highly organic and locally derived, the meals are served in a typical French fashion. For proper dining, guests can head to the restaurants in the proximity.

At Amarya Shamiyana, the kitchen is open at all times. Breakfast is served late till the noon, as the camp has no lunch or dinner policy. Therefore snacks including farm fresh eggs, organic muesli, freshly baked crepes, juice, seasonal salads, Indian Parathas and Puris are offered all day. These day long snacks vary as per the taste of the guests. One can even ask for French fries, chicken, sausages or even the yummy Indian Aloo Bhaji. And the best thing is the food is served where the guests wish to, in the dining room or the private verandah. Amarya Shamiyana lies very close to a number of lip smacking multi-cuisine restaurants. Thus, guests can always get their meals delivered to their respective tents.

Communal areas

Guests at the Amarya Shamiyana have the luxury of enjoying aromatic coffee under the cool shade of coconut groves. This happens at the recently opened ‘Nesprosso bar’ at Amarya Shamiyana. One must not confuse it with some alcohol serving bar, but it’s a coffee joint which offers a wide range and tastes of the beverage. The bar is not just for the guests at Shamiyana, but for outsiders as well. In this way, one can a nice time in the company of hot coffee and fellow guests.

The beach camp also has an on-site designer boutique, named as ‘Nana Ki Paris’, which features hand-stitched Indian embroidery and designs. The shop is run by the team of a French mother and daughter, Danielle and Chloe Le Bonnois, who specializes in making use of natural fibers, extracted from organic cottons and linen. Even a fine collection of traditional Indian embroideries in Pashmina is available at Nana Ki Paris. Hence, guests at Amarya Shamiyana can very much indulge themselves in shopping of exquisite apparels.

Spa treatments

Amarya Shamiyana takes utmost care in ensuring that none of its guests go back home with a frown face. As a part of the hospitality, the beach camp offers a wide array of specialized Spa treatments. And this facility is given at the personal suite, at the convenience and requirement of the guests.

The beach camp of Amarya Shamiyana offers a lot of indulging activities to its guests. As Ashvem beach is at its doorstep, swimming and getting a sunbathe is amongst the prime activities here. The beach is famous for its serene surroundings, which allows the people to laze all day at the beach. If they want, they can go for a nice swim in the sea.

As the waves stay gentle at Ashvem beach, swimming here is  an absolute delight. And watch yourself from the Olive Ridley Sea Turtles, who in large population come floating to the beach between the months of September and February. Guests can also stroll on the beach, catching the sight of fishermen making arrangements for their next catch in the sea. At Amarya Shamiyana, indulges also include morning yoga sessions at the beach.

When to go?

Amarya Shamiyana in Goa stays open between 15 November and 15 April. It is the same time, when the peak season of Goa arrives. It all starts in the middle of December and continues till the end of February. During this time, the weather stays pleasant and comfortable throughout. Perfect to relax on the sandy beaches of Goa, the season also brings numerous festive celebrations along with it. 

Sunburn, Christmas and New Year are the prime celebrations of Goa during these months. Therefore, the best time to visit Amarya Shamiyana is from November to March, as March also stays within a comfortable temperature range.     

Tips

As Amarya Shamiyana beach camp is located in North Goa, it is close to some of the most popular attractions in the state. Make sure that apart from visiting the spectacular Calangute, Anjuna and Baga beach, you give a trip to other worthy attractions like Chapora fort, Mhadei wildlife sanctuary and Arvalem waterfalls as well.

Kids

Amarya Shamiyana being close to the beach, offers a whole lot of fun, both for the adults as well as children. Older kids can simply walk onto the beach whenever they feel like. A typical picnic spot for families, Ashvem beach is a beautiful and serene beach. As the beach is not crowded, kids can have a great time strolling on the sandy shores.  Parents need not to worry about their young kids, as the beach has plenty of safe places for them. The sandy gardens and colorful lounge area with cushions and TV suit best for the purpose.   

Kids can also have their preferred menu chart in the food section. Although, the camp does not provide any such amenity, but the nearby La Plage restaurant provides good dining/Lunch options, especially dedicated to the kids.  

Location

Located on the Ashwem beach in North Goa, Amarya Shamiyana is 55 km from Dabolim airport. Whereas the nearest Tivim railway station is only 25 km from Amarya Shamiyana. However, the main railway station of Goa is Madgaon station. Hence, guests are advised to use this station as unlike Tivim, every train makes its stoppage here.

Madgaon railway station is 63 km away from Amarya Shamiyana beach camp. Onward journey from airport/railway station to the camp is all handled under the camp’s transfer services. Mentioned below are the various means to reach Goa

By Air

Dabolim international airport in the state of Goa operates regular flights from New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Cochin. The airport is just 29 km away from the capital city of Panjim.

By Rail

Goa has two major rail junctions- Madgaon and Thivim. These two junctions are very well connected to the major cities of India. Goa Sampark Kranti Express, Trivandrum Rajdhani, and Kerala Sampark Kranti are amongst the few prominent trains running to Goa on a regular basis.

By Road

If you wish to travel by road, then Goa offers you many options. The state has many private bus service operators which provide convenient options for inter as well as intra city travel. Besides, Goa state transport service also operates regular buses to and from the nearby states.
