House of MG metro Hotel is a heritage hotel that was built in 1924 to serve as a residential home for a wealthy textile businessman, Mr. Mangaldas Girhardas. The hotel is spread over 5500 square yards and the architecture shows an influence of Baroque style, Italian Mosaic and classic European feel with Stained glass windows, courtyards, marble flooring and passages opening into asymmetrical places. The hotel does it bit of taking the initiative of saving the heritage by involving local artisans and craftsmen to share their art with the global world. The hotel also supports heritage walks and also restored Mangaldas ni Haveli and converted it into a café and a craft shop.
The hotel is only 7 Kilometers away from both the railway station and the airport. The hotel is situated opposite to Sidi Saiyad Jali and lies near the infamous Lal Darwaza. The residential house was renovated by the grandson of MG and retains an old world charm that is highly alluring and enticing. The hotel lies in close proximity to Manek Chowk, Jama Masjid Mosque, Shaking Minarets, Swaminarayan Temple, Sidhi Bashir Mosque and Hathi Singh Temple. The hotel boasts of an indoor pool called Lotus Pool and a health club. The hotel also offers conference facilities. Agashiye Lounge & Garden opens out into the terrace and is ideal for parties and can accommodate up to 500 persons.
