Founded by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in 2001, HAL Heritage Center and Aerospace Museum is the second largest public aerospace museum in India and is one of the best tourist attractions in Bangalore.

The complex has a museum where innumerable air crafts, jets, fighter planes, etc., are displayed. Along with a museum displaying the history and achievements of HAL, the complex also has an aeromodelling club, a library, and a souvenir shop. Visitors can also try their hands at flight simulators by shelling INR 10.

The museum gives an insight into everything that one might wish to know about the aeronautical history of the country, along with giving a sneak peek into some of the most fierce fighter planes of the Indian Air Force. You can even see life-size models of these plans on exhibit, an equally wonderful sight for adults and kids.

Some exciting displays at HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum include an antique Canberra bomber, the Kiran and the Marut models, and the ill-famous MIG-21. It is South Asia’s largest aeronautical complex with designing, developing, producing, and maintaining avionics, engines, accessories, helicopters, and aircraft.

The Museum is on Old Airport Road, just 8 km from MG Road and 2 km from Old Airport. It is managed and maintained by HAL, one of Asia’s leading Aerospace companies.
