One of the popular sanctified spots in Coorg is Igguthappa Temple; dedicated to Lord Igguthappa- lord of rains and crops. Igguthappa is another name of Lord Subramanya. The temple was built by King Lingarajendra in around 1810 and is one among the most pious sites respected by all locals of the place as well as the visiting tourists. Later, in year around 1835, the temple was renovated by Dewan Apparanda Bopu giving it a modern look with new roof designs covered with tiles. Infused with purity, Igguthappa temple in Coorg holds a spiritual ambiance.  Settled in Virajpet town in Coorg town in Karnataka, the holy shrine is regarded as one of the most popular tourist spots too.

Moreover, during the month of March an annual festival is celebrated in the temple with great enthusiasm and devotion.
