The All India Amateur tournaments in India are being conducted on the Chandigarh Golf Club and Royal Calcutta Golf Club courses among various others. The Chandigarh Golf Club features a well equipped clubhouse, swimming pool and gymnasium. It houses a 7,202 yard 18-hole course much talked about for narrow tracts and a 613 yard long dogleg 7-hole course. Besides, you will also come across floodlights on the 1st nine holes.

The Royal Calcutta Golf Club was founded in 1829. It is regarded as the 2nd oldest golf club in the world. The club features a fine and extensive 18-hole golf course. The course has flat terrain and small greens. One of the most challenging features of this golf course is water hazards. A full-proof renovation program was conducted on the Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC) to ensure better conditions and standards for golfing.

The All India Open Amateur Golf Cup is sponsored by LG group, a leading name in the manufacture of electronics, mobile phones, and petrochemical products. LG is originally a South Korean multi national company.

The top seeded male golf players of the All India Amateur championship are Rahul Bakshi from (IND), Shahid Khan (BAN), Ajeetesh Sandhu (IND), Vikram Rana (IND),Abhishek Jha, Mithun Perera (SRI), Akhmal Tarmizee (MAS), Tao Huang (TPE),Simarjeet Singh (IND), K Prabagaran (SRI), Tariq Mehmoud (PAK), Rashid Khan (IND), Manav Das (IND) and Gagan Verma. Besides, Sharmila Nicollet, Mehar Atwal, Shweta Galande and Laverry Kumar are some of the leading women golf players who also appeared in All India Amateur tournaments.
