Climate

Owing to the topography of Munnar, the hill station flaunts a pleasant and invigorating climate throughout the year. However, the best time to visit this part of Kerala are the months of winters. Winters in Munnar usually stays from December to February.

Tourist Attractions

The beautiful hill station of Munnar is famed for housing several natural attractions that make some of the best tourist spots in the region. Crowned amongst the top ones in the list is Mattupetty dam, which is an idyllic place to enjoy nature’s serenity. Mattupetty is one of the finest picnic spots in Munnar, and if lucky you can even catch the sight of elephants, who often visit the embankments of the lake.

If you are fond of mountains, then Anaimudi peak in Munnar would surely be your point of interest. Being the pride of Kerala, Anaimudi peak is home to one of the largest surviving populations of Asian Elephants, Nilgiri Tahrs and Gaurs. One can trek all along the evergreen forests which cover the mountain like a carpet. For that, prior permission from the authorities of Eravikulam National Park is required.

Munnar tour feels incomplete without visits to the numerous waterfalls that the hill station has bestowed within itself. Amongst the most popular ones are the waterfalls of Nyayamakad. These breathtaking falls serve as an excellent picnic spot. Besides, you can even start a trek in the enchanting surroundings or if you love fishing, the cascading waterfall will give you supreme joy in catching fishes.

Apart from the above mentioned tourist spots, Munnar is highly visited for its other attractions  like Eravikulam National Park,  Rajamala Wildlife Sanctuary, Echo point, Attukal waterfalls and Muniyara Dolmens.
