Nagaland Climate

Nagaland consists of mountains and rivers, and this dictates its climatic conditions. The state sees high rainfall and humidity, and tourists usually avoid this season because it is common to have landslides and road blockages during this time.

The summers are more relaxed because of the high altitude, and it is ideal for visiting the forests and mountains of Nagaland. On the other hand, winter is preferable since temperatures are low to moderate, and touring during this time is an absolute breeze. So, the best time to visit Nagaland is summer and winters.

Nagaland Geography

Nagaland has a monsoonal climate. Mount Saramati is the state's highest peak. At this peak, the Naga Hills merge with the Patkai range—the Naga Hills upsurge from the Brahmaputra Valley in Assam to around 610 meters (2,000 ft)

Nagaland boasts rich biodiversity. Its flora includes lush forests with bamboo, oak, and rhododendron trees. The fauna comprises diverse species such as elephants, tigers, leopards, hornbills, and unique reptiles, contributing to the state's vibrant ecological heritage.
