The historic town of Bharatpur is one of the most popular tourist destinations of Rajasthan. Bharatpur’s Keoladeo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to 364 species of birds and this makes the city a must-visit place to visit in Rajasthan. In the center of the sanctuary lies an ancient Lord Shiva Temple, from which the name of the sanctuary has been derived.
Another major attraction of Bharatpur is Lohagarh (iron fort) Fort; its christening complements the fact that this is one of the strongest structures of India, which withstood several attacks. The fort houses a museum that has a collection if stone sculptures, terracottas, coins, inscriptions, art and more. Some of the other highlights of Bharatpur are Laxmi Vilas Palace, Kishori Mahal, Golbagh Palace and Moti Mahal.
