Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II of Jaipur built Moti Doongri temple in the 18th century. He had a great passion for art, architecture, and astronomy. Aside from this temple, he also constructed several other structures in the pink city. Sati, who is the wife of Shiva in Hindu mythology, is worshipped in this temple. This temple was built after her earrings fell here. Rajput style architecture can be found in the temple, a style that was prevalent during Jai Singh II's reign.
