Baba Reshi Shrine in Gulmarg

Baba Reshi Shrine is a pious and ancient spot settled on the slopes between Gulmarg and Tangmarg. It has its history dating back to 1840 and is dedicated to Baba Reshi, a Muslim saint and scholar who served as a major courtier during the reign of the king of Kashmir, Zain-ul-Abidin. Baba Reshi Shrine's architecture is exquisite as it was designed in Mughal and Persian style. Moreover, this is a three-storied building with some notable wood carvings inside and has a unique roof spire rising out of the rooftop.

Further, the shrine is surrounded by green lawns which can accommodate thousands of devotees at a time. The tranquil ambiance of the shrine offers great peace and power to its visitors.

How to reach Baba Reshi Shrine from Gulmarg

You can make a short trip to Baba Reshi's shrine. There is a 5 km downhill road from Gulmarg. Cabs are available from the main market area. A round from Gulmarg to Baba Reshi will cost almost Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2000. However, a better way would be to visit the shrine either while going to Gulmarg or returning.
