Located at a distance of around 35 km from Cochin (Kochi), Cherai beach is a picturesque beach, placed at the northern tip of the Vypin Island. An ideal beach to partake in swimming, this beach is an amazing mish-mash of backwaters and sea. Dotted with paddy fields and lush coconut grooves, Cherai beach is a popular attraction of the region. Take a leisure walk, soaking-in the serenity. Do not forget to collect seashells, available in various colors and shapes at the beach. Dolphin spotting is another popular activity here. The beach is quite close to the very popular Chinese fishing nets. Cherai beach has a coastline of 15 km which is very clean and ideal for sunbathing.
A 400 meter long pathway has been added recently, lined by mask lamps on the edges, adding more to the charm of the place. A lot of tourist activity can be seen here during late afternoon hour. Close to the beach, there are a number of restaurants and hotels.
