May to October is the best time to visit Lachulung La Pass. During the summer season, the pass remains open for vehicles. The rest of the year, it remains closed owing to heavy snowfall. The harsh climatic conditions make traveling through this pass impossible. How to Reach Lachulung La Pass

Located halfway from Manali to Leh, Lachulung La Pass is one of the prominent passes on the Manali Leh Highway. All the vehicles visiting Leh from Manali and vice versa have to cross Lachulung La Pass. To visit this pass, you can board state-run ordinary and deluxe buses from Manali and Leh. Also, hire a private taxi or hop on a shared taxi to travel this route. All the buses take a halt at the significant passes of Ladakh.

There is no mobile connectivity at Lachulung La Pass. Keylong and Jispa are the last points until network connectivity comes from Manali, and it will go again after Upshi. Airtel, Jio, and BSNL networks will be available in these offbeat places. Vodafone provides full network coverage in Leh and Manali. In between, these networks do not provide services.

  • If you plan to hike and trek during this pass, ensure your body is properly acclimatized, as this is a high-altitude pass. The chances of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) are higher at such altitudes.
