Built back in the year 1952 by Sir Cowasji Jehangir, The Jehangir Art Gallery is a popular art gallery located in Mumbai. The total cost of the mansion was donated by Cowasji Jehangir. The gallery was designed by G.M.Bhuta for G.M. Bhuta & Associates. Today, the gallery is managed by the Committee of Management of Bombay Art Society. It is one of the most prestigious venues for Indian artists in the city. There are four exhibition halls in the gallery which display the creativity of artists of bygone as well as the future eras. The creative pieces of art displayed in the gallery allure art lovers from all across the world.
The gallery complex is home to the popular Samovar cafe, which features an ambiance dating back to the socialist history of India in the 1970s. A number of artists from around the world wish to display their work in this gallery. However, many artists have to wait for years to showcase their work in the gallery.
