Set at an altitude of 2290 meters above sea level is the highest point of Mussoorie, Lal Tibba. Lal Tibba is the highest peak of the hill station and it offers spectacular views of snow capped peaks which house the most revered shrines of India- Kedarnath and Badrinath. Visitors can enjoy a clearer view of the surroundings through a Japanese telescope that has been installed at the edge of the cliff.
Lal Tibba is most popular to offer breathtaking views of the sunrise and sunset. People can also enjoy a glimpse of some old buildings and houses that were constructed long back in British architectural styles. The hill serves as the camp of the Indian Military Services and Broadcasting station of All India Radio and Doordarshan. Because of the presence of Indian Military Services, the right to entry to the place is restricted.
