Tiffin Top, a popular picnic-spot of Nainital, is located at an elevation of 2290 meters upon Ayarpatta Hill. It is also known as Dorothy’s Seat and was built by British Colonel J.P Kellet in the memory of his beloved wife. Today, people visiting Nainital and locals come here to savor 360-degree-view of Nainital. Tiffin means packed food and thus people often pack their food and settle here for a while.
Since Tiffin Top is located at a high elevation it wouldn’t be ideal for older people to climb up the hill but however trekkers would enjoy the route. If not by foot, you can choose to take a ride on horse’s back to reach Tiffin Top. Charges for hiring a pony range between INR 500 and 700.
