Hardwar - Rishikesh is at a distance of 24 km from Hardwar, another important pilgrimage spot for Hindus. Hardwar, like Rishikesh is also located on the banks of the holy Ganges and the flow of the river at Hardwar makes a sight in the evening when thousands of little boats made of leaves and adorned with lamps and flowers are floated by the pilgrims here.

Mussoorie- the Queen of the Hills on the Garhwal, Mussoorie is one of the most popular weekend excursions from Rishikesh. Mussoorie is famous for the Kempty Falls and the view of the Shiwalik Hills, and its green environs.

Chila - just 20 kms from Rishikesh, Chila has been declared a sanctuary by the Government of India. A canal from Ganga feeds the reservoir at Chila where one can spot some wild sport. The deeply forested surroundings offer pleasant stay. Accommodation is available at the tourist lodge at Chila.

Valley of Flowers - The famous Valley of Flowers has the largest concentration of a large variety of species of wild flowers. It is located off the Rishikesh-Badrinath road, 16 km from Govindghat.
