The highlight of the village is the Nohwet Living Root Bridge. They are a staple of Khasi traditional architecture and help people connect with each other and travel to the plains for trading. Unlike hot summers in most parts of India, Mawlynnong Village experiences pleasant summers. It is the best time to visit Mawlynnong Village. The Winter season is also a great time to visit this village. During this time, the days are sunny and nights are cold with temperature even dipping to 5°C. The monsoon season sees heavy rainfall but the flowers bloom, the surroundings turn lush green, and the environment becomes lively.

You can attend the Behdienkhlam festival in July. Between September and December, Wangala Festival is celebrated, and Nongkrem Dance Festival in October or November.

  • By Train– Guwahati has the nearest railway station to Mawlynnong Village. It is at a distance of 169 km from Mawlynnong Village and takes about 5 hours to reach.
