Shirdi Sai Baba came to Shirdi as a Bal Yogi and he was usually found seated under a Neem tree. The same place is known as Gurusthan. The place is considered a major pilgrim site as it had immense importance in the life of Sai Baba. In the year 1941, the place was reconstructed and a temple was constructed on the same spot.
The temple has a huge marble statue of Sai Baba. At the foot of the Neem tree, there lies a paduka of Sai Baba which have been donated by the devotees to honor Sai Baba. Also, it is believed that the tomb of Sai Baba’s own guru is located at this place.
