Itinerary Details
Day 1: Guwahati – Bhalukpong (240 km / 05 hrs drive approx)

Your Assam Arunachal tour starts from Guwahati with your pick up from Airport/ Railway Station. Meet your tour representative and get assisted with a drive to Bhalukpong. Enjoy the scenic ride to the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas. Bhalukpong is a scenic town in Arunachal Pradesh that is blessed with a serene ambiance that visitors cannot help but fall in love with.

On arrival, check-in to the hotel. Relax for a while and then get ready to pay a visit to Tipi Orchidarium. The orchidarium has over 2600 cultivated orchids from 80 different species. The beautiful flowers in bloom inspire awe in all those who visit.

Day 2: Bhalukpong – Dirang (180 km / 06 hrs.)

Start the day with early breakfast at the hotel. Later, pack your bags and check out. Start with your scenic drive to Dirang. The small town on the banks of River Kameng, Dirang is blessed with picturesque beauty that inspires awe in visitors and also tempts adventure lovers.

On arrival, check in to the hotel. After relaxing for a while, head to Dirang Dzong. The tribal region of Dirang Dzong is located on the banks of the Dirang River and is said to be over 500 years old. The tribal houses in the region have unique architecture and reveal their antiqueness.

Later, pay a visit to the Sangti valley. If treks are of your interest, local guides will be happy to take you up to a vantage point from where you can get a clear view of the eastern Himalayas. Overnight stay at Dirang.

Day 3: Dirang – Tawang (160 km / 08 hrs)

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed towards the next destination of your Arunachal Pradesh tour. Get on the road and drive to Tawang.

On the way to Tawang, pay a visit to the Sella Pass and Sella Lake. Situated at an altitude of 13476 ft., the Sella Pass is a high altitude mountain pass in the North Eastern Himalayas that is blessed with breathtaking views. Sela Lake at the base of the mountain pass is one of the 101 lakes in the area that are sacred in Tibetan Buddhism. Also visit Jaswant Garh, a war memorial of the war hero who gave up his life for the country. And lastly, just before reaching Tawang visit the Nunarang fall. The waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in this part of India.

On arrival in Tawang, check into the hotel. The evening is at your leisure. You can choose to explore the town or your own.

Day 4: Tawang

Start the day with breakfast in the hotel. Later, get ready for the Tawang Sightseeing tour.

Pay a visit to the Tawang Monastery, the famous Gaden Namgyal Lhatse, one of the sacred places of Buddhism in India. Founded by Merak Lama Lodge Gyatso in the year 1680-81, the 400-year old monastery enjoys a picturesque view of the Tawang-chu valley. It stands on the spur of a hill, about 10,000 feet above sea level, and has ravines in the south and west, narrow ridge on the north and gradual slope on the east.

Commanding a great view of the town, the monastery from a distance appears like a fort as if guarding the valley below. Tawang Monastery is the largest of its kind in India and also one of the largest monasteries in Asia. The Tawang Monastery has the capacity for housing about seven hundred monks, but the actual number of resident lamas (monks) at present is a little more than 450. This monastery is the source of spirituality in North East India.

In Tawang, next pay a visit to Urgelling Monastery, popular as the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama and Ani Gompa.

After sightseeing, take a break with a late lunch.

Next, proceed with a visit to the Tawang War Memorial post refreshment. The War Memorial in the Tawang town is a Buddhist shrine built to commemorate the Indian martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the 1962 Indo-China war. The monument is designed using Buddhist architectural and cultural elements, including prayer wheels and flags, Buddhist relics, and images.

The evening is free for shopping in the local markets of Tawang. At the major markets of Old Market, Nehru Market, and Newmarket you can buy crockery, sweaters, traditional jewelry, prayer wheels, flags, Buddha statues, wall hangings, good luck charms, and other gift items. The most popular souvenirs to take home are available in local handicrafts of wood, brassware and fishbone. The locals in Tawang are experts in carving special bowls, spoons, masks (used in religious dances), utensils used for cooking, etc.

After a day of sightseeing, get back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Tawang.

Day 5: Tawang - Bomdila (195 km/ 07 hrs. drive)

Wake up to the fresh air of the mountains. After breakfast at the hotel, complete your check out formalities and get on the road. The 5th day of the tour covers a scenic drive from Tawang to Bomdila.

On the way to Bomdila, pay a visit to the Nag Temple for blessings. On arrival in Bomdila, check in to the hotel. Later, get ready for sightseeing. Pay a visit to the Bomdila Monastery also known as Gentse Gaden Rabgyel Lling monastery. One of the sacred Buddhist places of worship in North East India, the Gompa is also surrounded by pristine natural beauty. The monastery has a huge prayer hall, the temple of Buddha, and a tiny quarter of monks.

Later, trek up to RR Hill, Bomdila's highest point to savor the breathtaking views of Tibet and Bhutan. Also, do not forget to explore beautiful apple orchards that are open for you to take a stroll in and buy some fresh fruits of the trees.

Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Bomdila.

Day 6: Bomdila – Nameri (120 km/03 Hrs.)

Start the day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. Later, complete check out formalities and leave for Nameri by road.

The drive is picturesque as is the place. Nameri is nestled in Himalayan foothills on the banks of the swift-flowing Jia Bhoroli River. The prime tourist attractions of Nameri are adventure activities like river rafting, jungle trekking on foot, and angling. Also, it is blessed with lush jungles that are inhabited by many wild animals.

On arrival in Nameri, check in to the hotel. In the afternoon, proceed for a jungle walk with an armed guide for the company. If luck favors spot some wildlife or enjoys the blissful greenery.

Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 7:  In Nameri

This morning after breakfast gets ready for some adventure. Indulge in a fascinating session of river rafting on Jia Bhoroli River. For this adventure excursion, drive 25 km from the resort towards the river upstream. Enjoy the13 km stretch of rafting that takes around three hours thrilling on the inflatable raft. While river rafting on the speedy waters, you also get a chance to see a lot of migratory waterfowl, and if you lucky then one can even spot the Royal Bengal Tiger and the Elephant on the banks of the river from the boat.

After the high on adrenalin session of river rafting, return to the campsite for lunch. After the mouthwatering meal, proceed to explore the nature trail along the Nameri National Park. On your nature excursion, you will be accompanied by a knowledgeable forest guide and an armed forest guard. The forest treks are the best way to explore the wilderness and get very close to wildlife life. Spot the rare species of white-winged wood ducks and the great hornbills. The highlight of the 7th day of the tour is a visit to the Nameri National Park.

Before it turns dark, get back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 8:  Nameri – Ziro (280 km/08 Hrs.)

After breakfast at the hotel, complete your check out formalities and leave for Ziro by road. On the way to Ziro, come across the fascinating Nishi Tribal villages. The Nishi is the largest tribal group in Arunachal. The tribal community is proud of their race and tradition and is very fond of their ancient methods of hunting and fishing. The Nishi tribals can be easily identified by means of dressing up. Men keep their hair long and knot it in just above the forehead and wear cane bands around their waist and a cane cap on his head, and also a smoking pipe in his mouth and a long-bladed knife.

On arrival in Ziro, check in to the hotel. The rest of the time is at your leisure.

Day 9: In Ziro

Start the day with trekking to Dzukou Valley. The valley in Northeast India finds mention among the most beautiful places on Earth. Nestled at an altitude of 2452 m above sea level, this valley is well known for its natural beauty, rare seasonal flowers and flora and fauna.

In the afternoon, pay a visit to the Apatani tribal villages. Get a chance to learn about their art, culture, and way of life. The Apatani tribes are renowned well-settled agriculturists and are known for their practice of both wet and terrace farming. This tribal group is more focused on their economy than any other tribe in North East India. Their popular method of paddy cum fish culture is not just interesting but also a pleasant sight. The Apatani tribes also dress up uniquely. The Old men of the tribe tie the hair in top-knots and wear a tattoo on the faces and Older Apatani women also wear circular nose plugs and the tattoo on faces; but, younger generations of Apatani men and women have stopped this practice.

After breakfast at the hotel, check out from the hotel and leave for Daporizo. It is a small beautiful town in Northeast India, where you can find the suspension bridges over Subansiri River. Here, you can also indulge in river rafting, angling, and other activities, if you wish to in the river.

On arrival in Daporijo, check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10: Ziro – Daporijo (180 km/06 Hrs.)

After breakfast at the hotel, check out from the hotel and leave for Daporizo. It is a small beautiful town in Northeast India, where you can find the suspension bridges over Subansiri River. Here, you can also indulge in river rafting, angling, and other activities, if you wish to in the river.

On arrival in Daporijo, check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11: Daporijo – Along (165 km/05 Hrs.)

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel, then you will move towards Aalo (Along) by road. Aalo or Along is situated on the bank of Siang River. The beautiful valley in Arunachal Pradesh settled at an altitude of 1020 ft. is blessed with picturesque landscapes. Surrounded by hills and beautiful orange orchards, it is an exotic nature getaway in Arunachal Pradesh.

On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Later, leave for sightseeing or nature walks. There are places like Ramakrishna Mission Campus, Patum Bridge, Bagra Village, Donyi Polo Temple, etc.

Overnight stay at Along.

Day 12: Along – Pasighat (120 km/03 Hrs.)

Start the day with breakfast, after which check out from the hotel and drive to Pasighat. The scenic town in Arunachal Pradesh is located on the bank of river Siang. The oldest town in Arunachal Pradesh, Pasigaht dates back to the time of the British Raj. Another highlight of the town is that it is the home to the famous tribes of Passi and Minnyiong. These northeastern tribes keep their culture and traditions intact and live in harmony with nature.

Upon arrival in Pasighat, check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is free at your own leisure. Explore on your own.

Day 13: Pasighat – Dibrugarh (150 km/5 Hrs.)

After breakfast, start with a drive for Dibrugarh. Enjoy the scenic drive and to arrive at the town cross the mighty river Brahmaputra by ferry. After reaching Dibrugarh, check in to the hotel.

The afternoon is free for last-minute shopping. Explore the popular markets such as Naliapol Bazar, Newmarket & Chowkidinghee Bazar. Buy branded electronic goods and appliances or shop for fashion items, leather items, branded jewelry, and crockery items. Chowkidinghee Bazar is known for having restaurants and fast food corners and is the perfect place for some refreshments post-shopping.

Day 14: Dibrugarh – Kaziranga

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel, after which check out and leave for Kaziranga. The beautiful wildlife haven of Kaziranga is an amazing place to visit in Assam. Such is the diversity of wildlife and thrill of adventure that it is inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India.

People from different parts of the globe come to visit Kaziranga every year to see the one-horned rhinoceros. With an area of 430 square kilometers, Kaziranga is also home to a large number of wildlife species like tiger, wild buffalo, gaur, leopard, stag, deer, hog, and wild boar along with a large number of beautiful migratory birds.

On arrival in Kaziranga, check in to the wildlife resort in the wildlife sanctuary. The rest of the day is free of plans. Spend it at your own leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 15:  In Kaziranga

The highlight of the 15th day of your tour is Elephant & jeep safari at Kaziranga national park. Early in the morning, proceed for an elephant safari at 5.30 AM to 6.30 AM in the western range of the national park.

The songs of the birds and the smell of the wildflowers and the thrill of coming so close to the wildlife make the safari even more mesmerizing. The main attraction of this wildlife sanctuary includes One-horned Rhinoceros, tiger, wild buffalo, elephant, and variety of deer, python, and a variety of migratory birds among others.

Return to the resort for breakfast. Later in the day, pay a visit to the nearby local village to see their way of life & livelihood. You can also explore tourist attractions such as Tea Garden & Orchid Sanctuary. Some of the famous Tea Gardens to visit are Methoni, Hathkhuli, Difalu, Borchapori, and Behera.

Once you have had your lunch; proceed again to the national park for yet another round of wildlife safari by jeep.

The evening is free of plans and you can spend at your own leisure. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 16: Kaziranga – Guwahati ( 200 Kms./ 05 Hrs.)

Today is the end of the Delightful Assam Arunachal tour. Post breakfast, check out from the hotel with fond memories of the wonderful North East India tour. Get timely transfer to Guwahati Airport/ Railway Station for onward destination.
