Itinerary Details
Day 1: Cochin (Arrival)

On your arrival at Cochin Airport, an IHPL representative will assist you with transfer to your hotel. Check-in at the hotel and take some rest. The remaining of the day is free to spend on your own. Cochin, also known as Kochi or Ernakulum, is a beautiful port city in India. This cosmopolitan city is also known as “Queen of the Arabian Sea” and “Gateway to Kerala” and is dotted with numerous attractions. Here you can explore the Kerala folklore through art and culture in several heritage sites. You can visit Fort Kochi, a beautiful seaside area spotted with the colonial buildings and century-old traditional shops. This is the best place in Kerala to purchase aromatic spices, traditional clothes, and souvenirs. You can also enjoy the taste of traditional Kerala dishes at one of the fine restaurants here.

Day 2: Cochin Sightseeing

On day 2 of your tour to Kerala, embark on a sightseeing tour of Cochin arranged by our tour representative. The attractions that you will explore today include Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Dutch Palace, Bolghatty Palace, Kerala History Museum, Gunda & Willingdon Islands, Hill Palace Museum, Santa Cruz Basilica, and Parishnath Taamburan Museum. 

Start the tour by visiting Dutch Palace or Mattancherry Palace. Here you can admire the exquisite Kerala Murals depicting the history of the Kings of Kerala. Then explore Jewish Synagogue which is a continuous meeting house for the Jews since 1561. This is also a witness to the colonial struggle of the British in the area. The Santa Cruz Basilica is a heritage edifice based on the Indo-European and Gothic style of architecture.  Explore the burial site of Vasco Da Gama at St. Francis Church, one of the oldest churches in India.

Also, take the pleasure to explore the Chinese Fishing Nets. This is a unique fishing technique that has become a Kerala tradition and offers an amazing view during the sunsets. In the evening, proceed to witness the spectacular Kathakali dance performance. Later, return to the hotel after the day’s excursion.

Day 3: Cochin - Munnar

Today morning after breakfast, check out from your hotel and leave by road for Munnar. Enjoy a scenic ride to the most beautiful hill station in Kerala. Misty roads, the cloudy skies, dramatic waterfalls, green plantations, and verdant mountains create the topography of Munnar. On reaching, check-in at the hotel and freshen up. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. 

In the evening, enjoy a relaxing walk amid the lovely green surroundings and soak in the beauty of Munnar. You can also visit the local markets to explore traditional products.

Day 4: Munnar Tour

Today take delight in the breathtaking beauty of the Munnar and explore the verdant fragrant tea plantations. Munch your breakfast and head out for a sightseeing tour of Munnar. The attractions enlisted for today’s excursion are Christ Church, Eravikulam National Park, Mattupetty Dam, and Anamudi Peak. All these places are popular tourist attractions and offer plenty of opportunities for sightseeing and photography.

Eravikulam National Park is famous for the Nilgiri Tahr, a rare species of the mountain goat. If you are lucky, you can get a glimpse of the Neelakurunji flowers in the green valley that blooms once in 12 years.  Also, enjoy a spectacular view of tea plantations from the park. Then visit the Mattupetty Dam, constructed in late 1940, this dam is now a major source of hydroelectricity in Kerala. Birds and animals come to drink water in the reservoir that remains full of water throughout the year. This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Kerala for bird enthusiasts. Here you can enjoy boating in the vicinity of Anamudi peak and mountain slopes decorated by tea plantations. You can also trek in the Shola forest where a serene lake is surrounded by hilly groves making it a photographer's paradise.

If time permits, you can explore Indo-Swiss Farm located about 3 Km away from the Mattupetty Dam. It is a joint venture of cattle production by the Indian and the Swiss government where thousands of cattle graze freely on the slope of the hill. There are endless attractions in and around Munnar that you can explore on your own. Visit the Tea Museum, where you go through the processing of the morning brew of India. Also, visit the Echo Point to experience the natural echo phenomenon.

In the evening, enjoy an amazing sunset view while boating on the glittering Kundala Lake.  Later, explore the well-known old town market of Munnar. Visit the century-old Christ Church located amid the beautiful and tranquil environment in the old Munnar.

Day 5: Munnar to Periyar by Road

In the morning, hit the road to reach Periyar at Thekkady. On reaching Periyar, you will be transferred to the hotel. Post lunch set out to explore the local fishing village, take the pleasure to observe the honey collection process, and marvel at the verdant flora of the place.

Day 6: Periyar

Early morning, proceed for a boat safari on Periyar Lake. During your ride, spot the elephants bathing on the lakeside. Periyar attracts tourists with its incredible variety of wildlife, including birds, animals, and reptiles, besides others. Brave souls can enjoy hiking, bamboo rafting, and jungle patrol along the trail of the park. Admire the beauty of the serene lake that offers eternal beauty during the sunrise and sunset. After the safari, proceed for visit to the spice plantation.

Day 7: Periyar - Kumarakom

In the morning, proceed to Kumarakom. Upon arrival, check into the backwater resort. Post lunch set out for a fun-filled backwater cruise. Day 8: Kumarakom

Day 8 of your Kerala tour package is free for you to relax amidst the scenic environs of Kumarakom. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kerala for its quiet and lovely beaches and Ayurveda retreat. You can relax on the palm swayed beach or go for Ayurvedic massage to invigorate yourself.

Day 9: Kumarakom - Alleppey

Your Kerala trip plan includes a whole day and night on the backwater. On day 9 morning, you will board a traditional house at Kumarakom and reach Alleppey the next day morning spending these long hours amid the eternal beauty and serenity of Kerala backwater. Start your day with a houseboat cruise through the beautiful backwater of Kerala. Glide on the tranquil waters of the Lake Vembanad and marvel at the lush green spice plantations, fishing villages, and lake en-route. Enjoy traditional cuisine while floating on the eternal water and viewing the sunset beyond the green horizon.

Day 10: Alleppey - Kovalam

In the morning, disembark the houseboat at Alleppey and drive towards Kovalam. Upon arrival, check into the beach resort. The day is free to relax on the beach. Kovalam is a crescent-shaped beach which is actually a combination of three beaches- Hawa, Samudra, and Lighthouse beach. Hawa beach is popular for its tranquility where you can relax under the pine groves. The picturesque Samudra beach is known as the gem of Kovalam and is the perfect place for treating your eyes to the pure beauty of nature. To enjoy a panoramic view of the city, head to the Lighthouse beach. Kovalam beaches also offer a variety of water sports for the adventure seekers.

Day 11: Kovalam

On day 11, take a stroll on the beaches of Kovalam and explore the surroundings and tranquil locales. Day 13: Kovalam -Trivandrum (Departure)

Today is the last day of your beautiful Kerala tour itinerary. Have your breakfast in the hotel and get transferred to Trivandrum International airport to board the flight for your onward journey. If time permits, you can enjoy sightseeing in Trivandrum and visit Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the Napier Museum, Zoological Park, etc.
