Itinerary Details
Day 1: Arrival Dibrugarh

Your journey starts today, upon your arrival at the Dibrugarh airport, get an assisted transfer to Tinsukia. It takes about one and a half hours to reach Tinsukia from Dibrugarh by road. Check-into the hotel and take some rest. The rest of the day is free to spend on your own. Tinsukia is an industrial town in Assam. It is home to the first oil refinery in India located at Digboi. You can take a walk in this peaceful city and enjoy lively greenery.

Day 2: Tinsukia - Gunnjan

On the 2nd day, visit Gunnjan sightseeing post early morning breakfast. You will start your road journey to Gunnjan for a green treat along the banks of Brahmaputra. After reaching, start your bird watching tour in Dibru-Saikhowa National Park through a boat ride on the Brahmaputra River that surrounds the park. During the tour, you will spot some beautiful species of birds like Sand Larks, Smokey Warbler, Jerdon's Babbler, Paddyfield Warbler, Black-breasted Parrotbill Black Storks, Asian Openbill, Green Imperial Pigeons, and Stork-billed Kingfisher.

Day 3: Kaziranga National Park

On the 3rd day of the tour, you will explore famous one-horned rhinoceros and various animals. Today morning after breakfast, start your journey to Kaziranga National Park. On arrival, check-in at the forest resorts and take some rest. The rest of the day is at leisure.

In the evening, you can go for a nature walk along the bank of the Brahmaputra. This UNESCO world heritage site is home to the one-horned rhinoceros that cover 80% population of the park. The park is also home to a variety of other fauna including tigers, and elephants. The mighty Brahmaputra benefits water bodies in the park that are inhabited by colorful local and migratory birds and dolphins.

Day 4: Kaziranga National Park

On the 4th day, enjoy elephant & jeep safari. 'Come to Kaziranga and ride on elephant's back', this slogan of Assam tourism invites nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts from around the world. Start the day by an elephant safari in the Kohora or central zone of the park at the early hours of the morning. This area is a mix of grass and woodland. An elephant ride in Kaziranga offers an unmatched pleasure that you cannot experience anywhere else. Spot the wild population of the park while the cool breeze of Brahmaputra accompanies you. Later, indulge in two rounds of jeep safari in the park to enjoy the beautiful nature to your heart's content.

Day 5: Kaziranga – Shillong

On the 5th day, drive from Kaziranga to Shillong. After having breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and proceed towards Shillong. En-route you will visit the Umiam Lake which is a man-made lake and encompassed by lush green Khasi hills. This is a panoramic sight and a paradise for nature lovers. You can spend some quality time here and savor delicious Momos amidst the scenic beauty of the lake. Later you will proceed for Shillong.

On arrival, you will have an assisted transfer to the pre-booked hotel. Complete the check-in formalities and unwind. The rest of the evening is at your leisure. You can go shopping in Police Bazaar which is the major market in Shillong. This vibrant market is thriving by shopping enthusiasts. You can buy Scottish Cloth material which is extremely classy and can be made into jackets, frocks, shrugs and shirts, Organic Products, Bamboo Handicrafts, Shawls, and stoles.

Later in the evening, return to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Shillong.

Day 6: Shillong

On the 6th day of the Shillong tour, after early morning breakfast, you will hit the road to reach Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. It takes about 6 hours to reach Shillong from Kaziranga by road. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Shillong has charming weather throughout the year. When you walk along the misty road lined by pine trees and surrounded by blue hills, the cool breeze plays a charming melody in your ear. And you will no way but start singing 'Life is Beautiful'. For its soft and pure beauty, Shillong is named 'the Scotland of East'. In the evening, you can take a stroll in the local markets where good looking Khasia girls control the business. Explore traditional products and buy handmade bamboo or wooden showpieces. You can also buy traditional garments that are quite decent and pretty.

Day 7: Shillong – Cherrapunjee - Shillong

On the 7th day, visit Cherrapunji. Hit the road for an early morning journey to Cherrapunjee which is the second wettest place on earth. Upon reaching Cherrapunjee, visit the popular tourist attractions such as Mawsmai Cave, Nohkalikai Fall, and Elephant Fall. You might spot some rare bird species in the nearby forest of Mawsmai cave. The adventure enthusiasts can also enjoy trekking on the living root bridges. For many, this is one of the most prominent reasons to visit Cherrapunjee. Also, visit Mawsmai Falls, known as Seven Sisters Falls which is the fourth-largest waterfall in India. After the day's excursion, return to Shillong.

Day 8: Shillong – Guwahati (100 km/03 Hrs.)

Upon your arrival in Guwahati, you will have an assisted transfer to the pre-booked hotel. Complete the check-in formalities and rest for a while. After freshen up proceed for the Guwahati sightseeing tour. Visit the Kamakhya Temple which is one of the 51 Shakti Peetha. It is believed to be the oldest Shakti Peetha and is dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya. The temple is located in the Nilanchal hills in the western part of the Guwahati. It is one of the most revered shrines of Goddess Shakti. Seeks blessing at the temple

Later in the afternoon, you will visit to enjoy the river cruise on the mighty Brahmaputra River. Explore the majestic beauty of the river and you will be able to spot some of the exotic species of flora. The rest of the evening is at your leisure. You can visit the market for shopping. Guwahati has four popular shopping places namely Pan Bazaar, Paltan Bazaar, Fancy Bazaar, and Uzan Bazaar. Assam is famous for tea, so you can tea from here. Handicraft, Assam Silk, traditional jewelry, singing bowls, etc. are also famous here which you can buy as souvenirs.

Return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel in Guwahati.

Day 9: Leave Guwahati

Post breakfast you will check out from the hotel and get an assisted transfer to Guwahati Airport/ Railway Station for onward destination. With this, you will end your Guwahati Shillong Kaziranga tour.
