6 Days Kerala Backwater Itinerary
Day 1: Cochin Arrival

After you arrive at Cochin Airport, our tour representative will escort you to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel and take some rest. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at the hotel or as you like. Cochin is a beautiful port city in India also known as Kochi and Ernakulam. The cosmopolitan city dotted with numerous attractions is also known as “Gateway to Kerala” and “Queen of the Arabian Sea''. There are several heritage sites in Cochin where you can explore Kerala folklore through art and culture. You can take a stroll at Fort Kochi, a beautiful seaside area lined by the colonial houses and century-old traditional shops. This is the best place in Kerala to buy traditional clothes, aromatic spices, and souvenirs. There are also many fine restaurants where you can enjoy the taste of traditional Kerala cuisine.

Day 2: Cochin

After enjoying early breakfast, start day 2 of your Kerala boathouse package visiting major tourist destinations in Cochin. The day tour includes the St. Francis Church, Dutch Palace, and Jewish Synagogue. Start the tour by visiting Dutch Palace or Mattancherry Palace. It is famous for the exquisite Kerala Murals depicting the history of the Kings of Kerala. Then head to Jewish Synagogue, a witness to the colonial struggle of the British in the area. This house has been a continuous meeting center for the Jews since 1561. Visit St. Francis Church, one of the oldest churches in India and explore the burial site of Vasco Da Gama. You can also explore The Santa Cruz Basilica located near the St. Francis Church. It is a heritage edifice based on the Indo-European and Gothic style of architecture.

Also visit Chinese Fishing net, a major tourist attraction. This is a unique fishing method that offers an amazing view during the sunsets through the fishing nets hanging high. In the evening, take a walk in the market for a shopping extravaganza.

Day 3: Cochin – Alleppey Houseboat Stay

Wake up early in the morning and have your breakfast before you proceed to Alleppey by road. Upon reaching Alleppey, Check-in to a houseboat and cruise along the famous backwaters of Alleppey enjoying the majestic scenery. Sail on the tranquil waters and enjoy the views of the lush green spice plantations, fishing villages, and lakes en-route. Witness the sunset on this floating villa during the Alleppey boat ride.

Day 4: Alleppey - Kovalam

On the 4th day of the Alleppey houseboat trip, checkout from the houseboat and move towards Kovalam. On arrival at Kovalam, check-in at the hotel. After resting and relaxing for a while, move out for an excursion to Kovalam Beach. The beach allows you to have a fun-filled evening in the lap of mother nature.

The crescent-shaped Kovalam beach is actually a combination of three beaches- Hawa, Samudra, and Lighthouse beach. Hawa beach is the most peaceful among the three where you can relax under the pine groves. The scenic beach Samudra is the perfect place for treating your eyes to the pure beauty of nature. From the Lighthouse beach, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Adventure seekers can enjoy a variety of water sports at Kovalam beaches. You can also experience the magic of Kerala Ayurveda at one of the many Ayurveda Spa Resorts in Kovalam.

Day 5: Kovalam - Trivandrum

Today after breakfast, head out for a sightseeing trip to Trivandrum which includes places like Science and Technology Museum, Veli Tourist village, Shangumugham Beach, Museum Complex, Padmanabha Swamy Temple, and Akkulam boat club.

Spend the night at the hotel in Trivandrum.

Day 6: Trivandrum Departure

Today is the last day of your Kerala houseboat holidays. In the morning after breakfast, get transferred to the airport for catching a flight for the onward journey.
