Kickstart your day with a healthy breakfast and drive towards Khonoma. The village is known as Angami Naga village and was awarded the title of the first green village of the country. Khonoma is famous for its conversational ventures, forests, and unique form of agriculture, including some of the oldest terraced agriculture in the region. Land of The Anghs is home to the Konyak Nagas tribe. The Konyak Nagas are skilled hunters and they have tattoos all over their faces and hands. The tribe is also famous for its muzzleloaders. Wood carving adorns the house with an uplifting wooden entrance. The structure is 8 feet high and 12 feet wide.
Later, you will visit the Longwa village, which is the biggest village in Mon district. The Indo-Myanmar border passes from this village dividing the chief’s house into two halves, one of which is in India and the other half is in Myanmar. The Angh of this village has authority on both sides of the border.
