Itinerary Details
Day 1: Arrival in Kohima

AYour Nagaland tour starts with arrival at Dimapur Airport. After reaching the airport you will be transferred to the hotel. Complete the check-in formalities after reaching the hotel and relax. Get over the journey fatigue with a refreshing sleep at the hotel.

Distance from Dimapur to Kohima: 70 km

Travel Time: 3 Hours

Day 2: Witness the beauty of Kohima

TGreet the early morning sun and enjoy your delicious breakfast. Get ready to enjoy the local sightseeing tour of Kohima. Visit the famous Kohima War Cemetery, where you will get to know about the martyrs of the Second World War at Kohima.

Later, you will be transferred to Bara Basti, the second largest village in Asia. It is said that the village was established by the Angami ancestors of the aborigines. The entrance of the village is adorned with the horns of Mithun (Bison) and motifs of guns, which are a symbol of the bravery of the tribal people. Next up is the Nagaland State Museum, which depicts the history and culture of Nagaland and its tribes. It also houses Naga artifacts of about 15 tribal groups.

After an amazing day, return to the hotel for a sound sleep.

Day 3: Enjoy a Day Trip to Khonoma

Kickstart your day with a healthy breakfast and drive towards Khonoma. The village is known as Angami Naga village and was awarded the title of the first green village of the country. Khonoma is famous for its conversational ventures, forests, and unique form of agriculture, including some of the oldest terraced agriculture in the region. Witness the terrace cultivation and also interact with the local tribe to know more about their lifestyle and culture. Mainly the resident Naga tribes here are traditionally dependent on nature for food and use strong hunting practices. These tribes have a pool of master craftsmen, who are experts in the art of weaving with bamboo and cane.

In the evening, return to the hotel in Kohima for a comfortable sleep.

Day 4: A Remarkable Trip to Mokokchung

The next morning checkout from the hotel after having a toothsome breakfast. Today, you will be transferred to Mokokchung, popularly known as the land of the Ao Naga tribe. Mokokchung town is a beautiful hill station and one of the best sightseeing places in Nagaland. It is renowned for its Christmas, New Year, Moatsu, and Tsungremong celebrations.

En route, you will also get a chance to visit the Lotha tribal village. Lothas are notable for their expressive dances and folk songs. Enjoying the sightseeing, you will reach Mokokchung. Check-into the Circuit house or hotel. Later, explore the village and interact with the local tribes to understand the lifestyle of the tribes. These tribes are mostly dependent on agriculture although they are very rich in their folk literature. Later, hop onto your cozy bed for a restful sleep.

Travel Time: 4 Hours

Day 5: Off to Tuensang

‘Break’ your night long ‘fast’ at the hotel and checkout. You will now be transferred to Tuensang, the largest district of Nagaland, which lies on the international border of Indo-Myanmar. Tuensang is located in the foothills of Mount Saramati - the highest peak in Nagaland. The Changs, Sangtams, Yimchunger, and Khiamniungans are the principal inherent tribes of this region. Tuensang is popular for its rich cultural heritage, festivals, and beautiful colorful apparel. Aplenty of flora and fauna adds more charm to the town. You can feel the freshness of nature here as Tuensang is a region of excellent natural beauty with lush valleys and rugged hills around.

Enjoying the visual treat, you will reach Tuensang. Register yourself at the hotel and check-in. The rest of the time is for you to unwind and spend the rest of the time at leisure. When the stars pop up in the sky, surrender yourself to the dream world.

Travel Time: 2.5 Hours

Day 6: Another Tribal Village Beckons at Mon

Arise to a nutritious breakfast and complete your check-out formalities. You will be transferred to Mon - the last tribal village of the vacation. The Mon region is popularly known as The Land of The Anghs. Topographically, Mon district can be split into two regions - the upper region of the district includes Longching, Chen, Mopong, and Tobu areas, while the lower region includes Mon, Tizit, and Naginimora areas.

Land of The Anghs is home to the Konyak Nagas tribe. The Konyak Nagas are skilled hunters and they have tattoos all over their faces and hands. The tribe is also famous for its muzzleloaders. You will also view the amazing flora and fauna of this region along with huts and shops where local ladies sell organic fruits.

After reaching Mon complete your check-in formalities and relax overnight at the hotel

Travel Time: 5 Hours

Day 7: Explore Mon Village

Arise to a delicious breakfast and get ready to visit the chief’s house in Shangnyu village. The chief's house is the major attraction of the village. It is believed by the local tribes that the chief’s house has been created by angels. You can observe various memorial stones outside the Chief’s house. Wood carving adorns the house with an uplifting wooden entrance. The structure is 8 feet high and 12 feet wide.

Later, you will visit the Longwa village, which is the biggest village in Mon district. The Indo-Myanmar border passes from this village dividing the chief’s house into two halves, one of which is in India and the other half is in Myanmar. The Angh of this village has authority on both sides of the border.

When the evening falls, return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the time at leisure, followed by a sound sleep at the hotel

Day 8: Shop at Dibrugarh

Enjoy a delectable breakfast and checkout from the hotel. Today, you will be transferred to Dibrugarh. On arrival, check in to the hotel and unwind. Later in the evening visit the local market to buy souvenirs for your loved ones. After enjoying back to the hotel and slip into your cozy bed for a restful sleep.

Day 9: The Tour Concludes
