North East with Dooars Tour Package From Gangtok

Day 01: IXB/ NJP – Gangtok

Your North East with Dooars tour starts with greetings and pick up from the Bagdogra airport/ New Jalpaiguri railway station by our tour representative. Then, get transferred to your hotel in Gangtok. Upon reaching, check in to the hotel and rest for some time. The rest of the day is at your leisure, which you can enjoy as you like.

Spend a comfortable night at the hotel.

Distance Bagdogra Airport/ New Jalpaiguri railway station to Gangtok: 120 km (approx.)

Travel Time: 4.5 hours (approx.)

Day 02: Gangtok - A Day Trip to Tsomgo Lake

Wake up to a wholesome breakfast, get ready and proceed for a day trip to Tsomgo Lake. This gleaming lake is also known as Changu Lake and is a popular tourist attraction in Gangtok. It is located on the way toward the Nathula Pass and thus, you can enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty on the way. Spend time in the peaceful surroundings before proceeding to the next attraction, Baba Mandir.

Once finished, come back to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Optional: Tour to Nathula pass on China Border for Indian Nationals only (except Monday and Tuesday). (Charges extra)

Day 03: Gangtok – Darjeeling (115Kms./ 4 Hrs.)

On day 3 of your North East with Dooars tour, have a hearty breakfast and then check out from the hotel to proceed for a half-day sightseeing tour of Gangtok. You will cover Banjhakri Falls, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre, Flower Show, and Do-Drul Chorten and Institute of Tibetology.

Once the tour is complete, drive towards Darjeeling located at an altitude of 7,000 feet. On arrival, complete the check-in formalities and retire for the day.

Spend a comfortable night at the hotel.

Day 04: Darjeeling - Explore the Queen of the Hills

Wake up early to catch the sunrise at Tiger Hill. Come back to the hotel for a yummy breakfast and later proceed to Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park (closed on Thursday). Spot some rare collections of high altitude Himalayan species at this park including Snow Leopard, Red Panda, Siberian Tiger, and many other birds and mammals.

Afterwards, head to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute to see the valuable mountaineering gears which were once used by legendary climbers in the Himalayas. Visit the Tea garden, Ghoom Monastery, and Batasia Loop.

Later, we will visit the Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, and Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre. Shop for souvenirs, handicrafts, and more at the local markets like Ghoom Monastery Market, Batasia Loop Market, and Chowk Bazaar. In the evening, head to a mall for some time.

Return to the hotel for a sound sleep.

Day 05: Darjeeling - Jaldapara ( 160 Kms./ 05 Hrs.)

Begin day 5 of your North East with Dooars with a delicious breakfast. Then, check out from the hotel and leave for Jaldapara. Boasts about rich biodiversity, this place is one of the most beautiful and prominent places to visit in Dooars. Once you arrive, check-in the hotel and relax. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Spend a comfortable night at the hotel.

Day 06: Jaldapara - Enjoy an Exciting Jungle Safari

After having breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and head to the railhead or airport for the journey onwards.

Have an early breakfast and proceed for a thrilling jungle safari. Jaldapara is blessed with abundant flora and fauna, and one-horned rhinos are its major attraction. Spot Royal Bengal Tiger, Sambar Deer, Bison, and Hog Deer on the safari in their natural habitat. After the safari, return to the hotel for lunch.

Later, we proceed to Chilapata forest, a trove of treasure in Dooars. This forest provides shelter to Bison, Sambar Deer, Leopards, Barking Deer, 22 species of snakes, 180 species of birds, and a wide diversity of colorful butterflies. Enjoy watching birds like Fishing Eagle, Shikara, Crested Eagle, Jungle Fowl, and Bengal Florican.

End your Jaldapara tour with a visit to a historical fort built during the Gupta Era in the fifth century. Return to the hotel and enjoy a peaceful sleep.

Day 07: Jaldapara - The Tour Concludes

Your North East with Dooars tour ends today.

Have breakfast, check out from the hotel, and transfer to the Bagdogra airport/ NJP railway station. Then, board your flight/ train back home with unforgettable memories.
