Attractions in Valsad
Vansda National Park
The former private hunting ground of the Maharaja of Vansda, Vansda National Park is spread in an area of 24 square km. Currently under the control of the government, this national park houses a number of animal species such as palgolins, giant squirrels, pythons, leopards, tigers, four-horned antelopes and rusty spotted cats. The main attraction of this park is languor and monkeys. Some of the parts of this park are dark, even during the day.
Wilson Hill
Wilson hill station located in Valsad, about 27 km from Dharampur, another attraction, is located at an altitude of 750 meters above the sea level. The most popular tourist attraction of this beautiful hill town is a ‘Chhatri’ made of marble. This chhatri is dedicated to Wilson, the British Governor. When in Wilson Hills, you do not only treat your eyes to the picturesque beauty spread around, but can also indulge in mountaineering and rock climbing.

A pleasant coastal village, Nargol is a part of the Valsad District that is located near the Maharashtra Gujarat border. The beach of this village has also been given the same name and is called the Nargol Beach. Close to this beach is an Agiary or a fire temple, the place of worship for the Parsis. This temple is often visited by the Parsis who come here from Mumbai and a few other nearby places. Another popular place of worship here is Udwada, also popular for Iranshah Atash Bahram, the oldest and the most popular of the Parsi fire temples.
Dharampur
Placed on the banks of River Swaragavahini, Dharampur was once a princely state, known for harboring good relations of all the nearby states. As this town is placed at the base of the Sahyadri mountain ranges, it has been blessed with a pleasant climate and cool air, all around the year. The Lady Wilson Museum and the Japanese Gardens are some of the popular attractions here.
Sanjan
The small town in the Valsad District, Sanjan is placed very near to the border of Gujarat and Maharashtra. Known as one of the main Parsi settlements in India, Sanjan was probably founded by Zoroastrian refugees, whose descendants are now called Parsis, who came to Gujarat, when they fled from Iran. Today, it is a popular excavation site. The Sanjan Memorial Column, erected in 1917 is one of the holy sites of the Parsis.
Tithal Beach
>Around 5 km from the Valsad city, Tithal beach stretch along the Arabian Sea, is covered with black sand. Shri Sai Baba temple and Shri Swami Narayan temple are two of the popular attractions here. Once of the most popular beaches in the state, its shoreline is dotted with a number of shops selling tasty Gujarati snacks such as dabeli, Bhajiya, bhel chat and more. Enjoy a leisure walk and swimming here.
