Best time to visit Gir National Park

The best time to visit Gir National Park is from November to March, when the weather conditions are comfortable and pleasant for sightseeing tours. However, April and May are very hot but are considered the ideal time for wildlife spotting and photography.

This national park is the only shelter for Asiatic Lions in India. Gir National Park of Gujarat is a thrilling wildlife adventure spot, which spreads across 1412 sq. km. The national park falls within the Junagadh district in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. Gir National Park remains open from 16th October to 15th June every year.

The heavy rainfall makes the national park muddy and marshy, which makes safari impossible, due to which it remains closed from 16th June to 15th October every year.

However, in the monsoon season, the moderate to heavy rainfall makes a jungle safari in the national park almost impossible and dangerous due to muddy paths.
