How to Reach:

  • Air- As there is no airport in Kumarakom, this destination is accessible through the Cochin International Airport, just 70 km away. Another nearest airport is Trivandrum International Airport, which is around 171 km away. Both airports receive regular flights and are well-connected with the country's important cities.
  • Rail- Kumarakom, a beautiful small place, does not have a railway station of its own, and the nearest railway link is Kottayam railway station, around 16 km away, which receives both local and express trains. It is connected with the prime cities in and around Kerala.
  • Road- Reaching Kumarakom by road is relatively easy, with the main road junction of Kottayam being just 14 km. State and National Highways pass through the city connecting it with every important city in India. There are regular bus and taxi services available.
Treatments

Ayurtheeram, the healing center at Golden Waters, is one of the largest Ayurveda centers in the Kumarakom backwater region, with 10 therapy rooms. Each room is exceptionally well-appointed to carry out treatment or a massage individually. The gracefully carved hall of the center is a depiction of different treatment methodologies that are found in the holistic approach to healing.

  • Pizhichil- Treatment for arthritis, nervous disorders, paralysis, sexual weakness, etc. The Ayurveda doctor generally decides the duration as per your requirements.
  • Nasyam- Herbal juices and curative oils are applied through the nose for 7 to 14 days. It cures headaches, mental disorders, and paralysis.
  • Sirovasthi- This is an Ayurvedic treatment where medicated oils are poured into your ear for about 15 minutes to 60 minutes per the patient's requirements. It cures dryness of nostrils, mouth, and throat and facial paralysis.
  • Kativasthi and Urovasthi: In these two programs, herbal oils are massaged in different body areas to renew your senses and improve your blood circulation.
