• At Bali Safari, do not cross barriers or attempt to touch or feed wildlife unless it is part of an authorised, supervised activity.
• Follow all park instructions intended to protect animal welfare and visitor safety.
• Do not undertake Tanjung Benoa activities when operators suspend them because of unsafe sea or weather conditions.
• At any temples included in the Kintamani/Ubud tour, avoid revealing clothing and do not disturb ceremonies or sacred areas.
• Do not litter at the river, beach, Safari Park or cultural sites.

Best fit: April to September offers the best combination of drier weather, more predictable water-sport conditions and comfortable outdoor sightseeing. They work especially well for Kintamani, the Safari Park and Tanjung Benoa.

Also possible: March, October and November remain workable, with the possibility of short showers, and rafting or marine activities may occasionally need adjustment depending on rainfall and sea conditions.

Least suitable: December to February falls within the wetter period. Heavy rain can affect river levels, rafting schedules and water sports. Ayung rafting operators note that water levels can rise quickly after heavy rain.

• Indian passport holders are currently eligible for Indonesia Visa on Arrival, with a 30-day initial stay and an official fee of IDR 500,000.

• Rafting can be postponed or cancelled after extreme rainfall or unsafe river conditions.

• Kintamani is cooler than Bali’s coastal areas, so a light layer can be useful.
• Bali traffic can make road journeys slower than map distances suggest, particularly around Ubud and southern Bali.
