Best fit: November to April

These months generally offer better beach weather, calmer sea conditions and less frequent rain, making them the strongest for the Four Islands and Phi Phi excursions.

Also possible: May and October

Both are shoulder months. The trip is workable, but showers and changing sea conditions may affect boat tours or water activities.

Avoid / least suitable: June to September

These are wetter monsoon months on the Andaman coast. Rough seas, rain and reduced visibility can affect island hopping and water activities, even if Phuket and Krabi themselves remain open. Maya Bay also has an annual conservation closure; in 2026 it is closed from 1 August to 30 September.

  • The Four Islands and Phi Phi tours depend on weather and sea conditions, so routes or stops may change at short notice.
  • Maya Bay is not a swimming beach. Swimming remains prohibited to protect its recovering ecosystem.
  • Maya Bay has a seasonal conservation closure, currently 1 August–30 September 2026; Phi Phi tours can still operate using alternative stops.
  • The package currently lists national park fees as extra for both the Four Islands and Phi Phi tours, so these should be budgeted separately.
  • Water sports and snorkelling are subject to weather, operator rules and personal fitness; always follow the crew’s safety instructions.
  • If prone to seasickness, carry suitable medication for the long-tail boat and Phi Phi boat journeys.
  • Dress respectfully when visiting Wat Chalong and other religious sites; beachwear is better kept for the beach.
  • All non-Thai travellers must currently submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before entry, within the three-day submission window before arrival. The TDAC is separate from any visa requirement.
