Pre-Departure Information for Yatris
Health
This is one of the most challenging high-altitude road journeys on earth. You must be physically fit—there is no two-way about that. Generally, patients with asthma and heart problems have difficulty acclimating to high altitudes. In your interests, your doctor must examine you to determine your health condition and your ability to cope with the rigors of high-altitude travel, including days in ‘no road’ conditions, extreme cold, dust, trekking to an altitude of 19,500 ft during the Parikrama, etc.
Altitude Sickness
As you are travelling over high terrain, you are likely to experience symptoms and discomfort of altitude sickness (headache, loss of appetite, nausea, exhaustion, sleeplessness, breathlessness, etc.) until your body adjusts to the elevation. This can take a couple of days or more, depending on the individual. For this reason alone, we have made it mandatory to stay 2 nights at Taklakot before moving on to the higher altitudes. Drink plenty of water, remain calm, and engage in regular exercise. Please refrain from drinking alcohol or smoking before and during the tour. We also recommend you carry a strip of Diamox tablets. Do consult your physician on the dosage.
Important:
1. Identity Proof: All guests must provide a Photo ID at the time of booking confirmation.

I had booked a 4/5 day trip. I was in contact with Mr Chandan who did all the ground work from budgeting, giving us the whole schedule of travel ,documentation, booking the hotel, safari and an expert driver Mr Hitesh. Our trip started from Guwahati airport as we travelled from Mumbai. The driver was on time to receive us and after a very short stop in one of the hotel we visited Kamakhya Temple. Myself my husband and my son were on trip. After the temple visit we started for Kaziranga hotel which was really fantastic. Next morning we did our elephant and jeep safari booked in advance. Thereafter started for Shillong. The hotel and it’s services was great but being in the heart of market it becomes difficult to enter in peak time. But since our driver was familiar with the roads and place he was able to gear us till hotel but with done difficulty. Next day we left for Cherapunji visited lots of cave waterfalls. The hotel in Cherapunji were we stayed was just basic with very little Internet connection as you are literally staying on top of mountain. The view was great but the room and food was just okay. But we liked the breakfast but you have to order a night before as they don’t have laid out breakfast. Next day we visited Mawlynnong but we skipped Dauki as it’s in other direction and the weather was really hot by then and also since our driver told the water there in the lake is very less and muddy and not as clear as we see in pics. So we started back to Shillong. Although we could have gone directly back to Guwahati but since the hotel was booked in Shillong we went and stayed there. It was the same hotel Lady bird. But atleast we took rest, myself snd son we went to see the main market. The police bazaar market is great buzzing with people and music. Heart of city. Next morning we went to Guwahati had our lunch and the. We were dropped at railway station as we had to travel to Kolkata for a wedding. It was definitely s memorable journey. But few points to be noted is:1. For comfort book an Innova2. Give your choice of hotels if possible although it May increase your budget.3. You cannot visit all the spot nearby in one daySo either skip small ones or have few days in your hand to enjoy and rest4. Have cash in your hand as we saw everyone there they ask for cash whether it’s entry of car or personnel, taking a life jacket in case you want to take a dip in waterfalls, buying any item of interest.5. The cost of items are very expensive as they think the tourist will take any how.6. For people visiting Kamakhya temple I suggest if you have not booked online please take Gate no 2 without wasting any time. Although online booking will cost less but has to be done before hand but in case you don’t mind giving few more bucks and if you also don’t want to waste time in standing in long queue for darshan you can opt for Gate No 2. You will be approached by s pandit for doing Pooja and you can also reach the second line of entrance for better view.7. There’s lot of non-veg hotels but in case you want yo have veg ask your driver. They know good joints for thali as well.8. Shillong is good place for buying sweater, jackets, mekhlai but it’s better to bargain.9. Guwahati has a whole sale market for muga silk , mulberry silk and few other silk sarees which our driver had taken too. Bought few sarees but bargain for atleast 30-40% less which is quoted. All in all it was a good experience to go through IHPL but now I know how to fine tune it further for great experience. Thanks

I was fortunate enough to plan the Do dham Yatra to Kedarnathji and Badrinathji with IHPL. I was travelling with both my parents who around 75 years old. My mom is also a paralytic patient with only ~40% mobility on her left side. It’s obvious that with their age, health conditions, the possible dynamic weather conditions, general terrain, temple approach, crowd etc we were concerned and had lots and lots of questions. Gangesh was extremely patient during all the interactions and provided very genuine comforting responses that helped build our confidence. I loved the fact that there was no hard selling or unnecessary follow up and he gave us the much needed time, space and clear answers to make our decision.By God’s grace, it was a bright and clear day on 23rd September. The arrangements were outstanding. The staff of Himalayan heli and other ground staff were extremely equipped and had made all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth comfortable Yatra. The helicopter rides were all very scenic and the pilots pointed out to many mountains, rivers, dams, waterfalls. We saw Mt Kailash, Mt Kinnaur Kailash, Mt Nilkanth, Mt. Nanda Devi, Panch Kedars - Tungnath, MadhyaMaheswar, Rudranath, Kedarnath and Kalpeshwar to name a few. Despite the large crowd of devotees (since it was a Monday), all of us were blessed with an excellent darshan. We couldn’t have asked for anything more!We were also positively surprised on how empowered the ground staff were to make quick decisions. Our bag was misplaced in transit between the helicopters but the gentle manner in which the situation was handled and the bag was hand-delivered at our hotel speaks a lot about the customer centricity of the team. We concluded our day with an amazing lunch at Marriot!A big thank you to Pradeep, Rishabh, Sharma ji, Shastriji and Savan. In my view, they “walk the talk” and delivered upon their promise of making it an experience of a lifetime for all of us. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

We had booked Chardham yatra by helicopter with Indian Holiday pvt ltd. from 1Jun,24 to 06Jun,24. Tour was nicely organized . Good hotels were booked , location of the hotel were scenic . Itinerary was well organized . IHPL's tour coordinator Mr. Gangesh was very much helpful . All document like tour Itinerary details / Hotel voucher was provided in time .Given vehicles were good.Drivers were and polite and well behaved .However , due to some mechanical problem of helicopter we were stuck at Guptkashi for one day. That day was wasted but next day they had timely arranged our trip to Badrinath and back to Dehradun in time. Darshan of Badrivishal at temple was life time experiance as we were allowed to sit before the idol of Badrivishal for about 10 minutes despite heavy crowd in the temple.
