Best fit: December to March These months provide the strongest overall balance, particularly because Langkawi is in its drier season, making beach time and outdoor sightseeing easier to plan.

Also possible: April, June - August and November These months are still workable. June and July are relatively drier periods in much of western Peninsular Malaysia, while November marks the beginning of Langkawi’s dry season, although Kuala Lumpur may still receive frequent showers.

Avoid: May and September - October The itinerary can still operate, but these months are less predictable for outdoor sightseeing, with higher chances of rain and thunderstorms. October in particular is one of the wetter periods across much of western Peninsular Malaysia.

  • Indian passport holders currently have visa-free entry to Malaysia for stays up to 30 days until 31 December 2026, subject to immigration conditions.
  • Carry a passport with at least six months’ validity, confirmed accommodation and a return/onward ticket.
  • Complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) within three days before arrival.
  • Genting Highlands is cooler than Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi, so a light layer is useful.
  • Awana SkyWay currently operates from Sky Sentral to Genting Highlands, with a complimentary stop at Chin Swee Station on the same ticket.
  • Cable-car operations can change during scheduled maintenance. Resorts World Genting publishes closure and alternative-service notices, so reconfirm before travel.
  • Langkawi involves a domestic flight, so leave enough time for airport transfers and baggage procedures.
  • Langkawi is duty-free, but customs allowances still apply when taking items back to mainland Malaysia.
  • Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is an active place of worship; dress modestly and remove footwear before entering.
  • Tropical showers can occur throughout Malaysia even during comparatively drier months, so keep sightseeing somewhat flexible.
