Itinerary Detail

Day 1:

Mumbai – Delhi (by Train / Flight) — Arrival and transfer to hotel

Begin your Chardham Yatra from Mumbai by taking an overnight train or a flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi railway station or airport, our IHPL representative will meet and assist you before transferring you to the hotel. This day is intentionally light to make time for rest after your journey. Check in, freshen up and spend the afternoon at leisure — relax in the hotel or explore nearby areas if time permits. In the evening, review your pilgrimage documents and attend a short briefing with your tour manager to confirm the journey ahead. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 2:

Drive Delhi – Haridwar (approx. 223 km / 4.25 hrs) — Ganga Aarti

After breakfast, depart by road for Haridwar. The drive is comfortable and scenic as you leave the plains of the capital and approach the foothills. Upon arrival at Haridwar, check into your pre-booked hotel and rest briefly. In the evening, proceed to Har Ki Pauri to witness the world-famous Ganga Aarti — a poignant ceremony of lamps, chants and offerings on the riverbank. This ritual sets a devotional tone for the yatra. Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3:

Haridwar – Barkot / Kharsali (approx. 175 km / 5.5 hrs) — Transfer via Mussoorie

After breakfast, check out and begin your road journey towards Barkot / Kharsali. The route passes Dehradun and offers an optional halt at Kempty Falls near Mussoorie for photographs and a short refreshment break. Continue through scenic valleys and ghat roads to reach Barkot or Kharsali, your base for Yamunotri. On arrival, proceed to check in at the hotel; the remainder of the day is at leisure to rest and acclimatise. Overnight stay at Barkot / Kharsali.

Day 4:

Barkot / Kharsali – Yamunotri – Barkot / Kharsali — Pilgrimage day

Rise early the next day and, after breakfast, set out for Yamunotri. The approach involves a 5 km trek from the road ahead; pilgrims may choose to walk, hire horses or use a palanquin (doli) at extra cost. On arrival at the Yamunotri shrine, offer your prayers and take blessings from the Goddess Yamuna. The sacred hot springs and the temple precinct are both spiritually significant and atmospheric. After darshan, descend and return to Barkot / Kharsali for dinner and overnight stay. This is a dedicated pilgrimage day with walking and temple formalities.

Day 5:

Barkot / Kharsali – Uttarkashi (approx. 82 km / 3 hrs) — Transfer and light sightseeing

After breakfast, check out and drive to Uttarkashi. The shorter drive allows time to settle into the quiet Himalayan town. On arrival, check in to the hotel and enjoy an easy afternoon — stroll local markets or visit the Vishwanath Temple if time permits. Uttarkashi is a calm, spiritual stop and a practical overnight halting point before proceeding to Gangotri. Dinner and overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Day 6:

Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi — Full day excursion

Early departure after breakfast for Gangotri, positioned at roughly 3,100 metres and regarded as the source of the Ganga (Bhagirathi). At Gangotri, take a holy dip where appropriate and perform puja at the Gangotri Temple, reflecting on its mythological importance. The route to and from the shrine passes the beautiful Harsil valley — allow time for landscape views and photography. Return to Uttarkashi in the late afternoon; dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 7:

Uttarkashi – Guptkashi (approx. 200 km / 7 hrs) — Long scenic drive

After an early breakfast, check out and commence the long drive to Guptkashi. The route traverses changing mountain landscapes and will be interspersed with refreshment stops. On arrival in Guptkashi, check in at your hotel and rest. Use the evening to complete any Kedarnath pre-registration formalities if required, and to visit the town’s Vishwanath Temple, which holds historical significance. Dinner and overnight stay at Guptkashi.

Day 8:

Guptkashi – Sonprayag – Kedarnath (30 km road + 20 km trek) — Trek and darshan

Depart early and drive to Sonprayag / Gaurikund, the base for the Kedarnath trek. From here, pilgrims cover approximately 20 km to Kedarnath on foot, doli, or pony as per preference and availability. On arrival at Kedarnath, check in at government camps or lodges and prepare for darshan. Kedarnath’s setting among high peaks is dramatic and devotional; spend the evening in quiet reflection and rest at the camp. Overnight stay in Kedarnath lodges.

Day 9:

Kedarnath – Sonprayag – Guptkashi — Early Abhishek and descent

Prepare for a pre-dawn visit to Kedarnath Temple to attend the sacred Abhishek ceremony and perform darshan, an experience of deep spiritual intensity. After darshan, return to the lodge for rest and breakfast, then begin the descent to Sonprayag. Vehicles will meet you at Sonprayag to transfer back to Guptkashi, where you will check in at the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure; dinner and overnight stay at Guptkashi.

Day 10:

Guptkashi – Joshimath – Badrinath — Scenic high-altitude drive

After breakfast, depart early for Badrinath via Joshimath. The drive covers ghat roads and river valleys offering impressive Himalayan panoramas. On arrival at Badrinath, check in at the hotel and take time to rest and acclimatise. In the evening, proceed for darshan at Badrinath Temple and attend the evening aarti; many pilgrims also take a cleansing dip in the Tapt Kund, a warm spring believed to have medicinal properties. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11:

Badrinath – Rudraprayag – Rishikesh — Long downhill transfer

Following breakfast, depart from Badrinath and commence the long downhill drive towards Rishikesh. En route, you will pass through Joshimath and the scenic ghat roads descending into the plains; there will be opportunities for brief stops and photographs. Arrive in Rishikesh in the afternoon and check into your hotel. Spend the evening visiting Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, and attend the Ganga Aarti at a local ghat if time permits. Dinner and overnight stay follow in Rishikesh.

Day 12:

Rishikesh – Haridwar (approx. 24 km / 40 mins) — Short transfer and temple visits

After an early breakfast, check out and drive a short distance to Haridwar. On arrival at Haridwar, check into your hotel and take some rest. In the afternoon, visit Mansa Devi Temple and Chandi Devi Temple — both accessible by ropeway or by short treks — and experience panoramic views over the town. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri one more time to offer thanks and complete the ritual. Overnight stay at Haridwar.

Day 13:

Haridwar – Delhi Departure (approx. 223 km / 4.25 hrs) — End of pilgrimage

After breakfast, check out and drive back to Delhi for your onward connection. On arrival in the national capital, our representative will assist you with transfer to the railway station or airport as per your booked travel. We recommend allowing sufficient time for onward flights or trains. This concludes your Chardham Yatra from Mumbai with memories of sacred shrines and Himalayan vistas.
