Itinerary Detail

Day 1:

Arrival in Cochin – Heritage & Cultural Tour

Arrive at Cochin International Airport, where our representative will meet you and assist with a private transfer to your hotel. Cochin (Kochi) is Kerala’s historic port city and the starting point for many classic Kerala tour packages, known for its layered colonial past and vibrant coastal culture.

After check-in and some time to freshen up, proceed for a guided sightseeing tour. Begin with a visit to the Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace), renowned for its Kerala-style murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana and royal life of the erstwhile Kochi kingdom. Continue to St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, where Vasco da Gama was once buried.

Walk through the atmospheric lanes of Jew Town, lined with antique shops and heritage buildings, and visit the historic Jewish Synagogue, one of the oldest functioning synagogues in the Commonwealth. Conclude the tour at the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets, a centuries-old fishing technique unique to Kochi’s shoreline and best observed during late afternoon.

The evening is kept free for leisure. You may enjoy a gentle waterfront stroll at Fort Kochi or relax at your hotel after the cultural immersion.

Overnight stay in Cochin.

Day 2:

Cochin – Munnar

(Approx. 130 km / 4–5 hours)

After breakfast, check out and drive to Munnar, one of South India’s most scenic hill stations and a highlight of many hill station tours in Kerala. The journey gradually ascends into the Western Ghats, passing rubber plantations, spice gardens, waterfalls, and dense forest stretches.

As the altitude increases, the climate turns cooler, and views open up to mist-covered valleys and endless tea gardens. On arrival in Munnar, check into your hotel set amid rolling hills and plantations. The rest of the day is free to relax, allowing your body to adapt to the cooler mountain air—an important transition before the wellness-focused part of the journey.

You may enjoy views from your balcony, take a short walk around the property, or simply unwind in a quiet natural setting.

Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 3:

Munnar – Tea Gardens & National Park

After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Munnar, a destination celebrated for its tea landscapes and fragile mountain ecosystems. Visit Mattupetty Dam, surrounded by forested slopes and calm waters, followed by nearby viewpoints offering panoramic views of the Western Ghats.

Continue to Eravikulam National Park (subject to opening schedules), home to rolling grasslands and the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The park also provides some of the best elevated viewpoints in the region. Later, enjoy a guided walk through tea estates, where you learn about tea cultivation, processing, and the role plantations play in Kerala’s economy.

In the evening, you can enjoy a boat ride on Kundala Lake. Spot a herd of elephants drinking water at the lakeside. Sail past the spice garden and enjoy the stunning sunset view from the boat.

The gentle pace, fresh air, and greenery make this day especially suitable for travellers on a wellness-oriented itinerary. Return to your hotel by late evening.

Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 4:

Munnar – Thekkady (Periyar)

(Approx. 105 km / 3 hours)

After breakfast, check out and drive to Thekkady, located near Periyar National Park, one of Kerala’s most biologically rich regions. The drive descends from tea-covered hills into dense forests and spice-growing areas, reflecting Kerala’s natural diversity. On arrival, check into your hotel set amid forested surroundings.

Your first destination is Murikkady, a panoramic viewpoint where you get to experience stunning views of charming meadows, rolling mountains, and delightful streams. Breathe in the aromatic scent of spices carried by the cool breeze. Your next stop is Cellar Kovil, another excellent viewpoint located on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. From here, you can glimpse the plains of Tamil Nadu.

In the afternoon, visit a spice plantation, where expert guides explain the cultivation of cardamom, pepper, cinnamon, cloves, and medicinal herbs—many of which form the backbone of traditional Ayurvedic treatments.

Later, enjoy a boat ride on Periyar Lake, offering tranquil views of forested banks and occasional wildlife sightings such as birds or grazing animals along the water’s edge.

Overnight stay in Thekkady.

Day 5:

Thekkady – Alleppey (Backwaters)

(Approx. 128 km / 4 hours)

The next morning, after breakfast, drive to Alleppey, often referred to as the “Venice of the East” and the heart of Kerala’s backwater network. On arrival, board a traditional Kerala houseboat (kettuvallam), a signature experience of Kerala backwater tours.

Begin a leisurely cruise through narrow canals, village waterways, and wide stretches of Vembanad Lake. Watch everyday life unfold along the banks—fishermen casting nets, children playing near canals, and coconut palms lining the shores. Freshly prepared Kerala-style lunch, evening tea, and dinner are served onboard.

By evening, the houseboat anchors in a quiet backwater stretch, allowing you to enjoy sunset views and a peaceful night surrounded by water and greenery.

Overnight stay on the houseboat in Alleppey.

Day 6:

Alleppey – Kovalam

(Approx. 160 km / 4–5 hours)

After breakfast onboard, disembark from the houseboat and drive south to Kovalam, Kerala’s most established beach and wellness destination. The journey transitions from backwater landscapes to coastal highways dotted with fishing villages and coconut groves.

On arrival in Kovalam, check into your beachside Ayurveda resort and take time to relax after the drive. The remainder of the day is free to enjoy the coastal atmosphere. You may visit Lighthouse Beach, take a gentle walk along the shore, or enjoy sea views and fresh air.

This relaxed coastal setting prepares you for the upcoming days dedicated to wellness and healing.

Overnight stay in Kovalam.

Day 7:

Kovalam – Ayurveda Therapy & Beach Leisure

These days form the core of your Kerala Ayurveda Tour, aligning with authentic Kerala Ayurveda tour packages designed for long-term rejuvenation. On the first day of therapy, you undergo a detailed consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor, who assesses your body constitution (dosha) and recommends a personalised treatment plan.

A typical daily routine may include:

  • Abhyanga (therapeutic oil massage)
  • Shirodhara for mental relaxation and stress relief
  • Herbal steam baths and detox therapies
  • Guided yoga, meditation, and breathing exercises
  • Prescribed Ayurvedic diet aligned with your treatment

Treatments are scheduled to allow adequate rest and recovery time. Outside therapy hours, guests are encouraged to relax, enjoy the beach, take short nature walks, or simply rest. Optional water sports may be available (at an additional cost), but are generally discouraged during intensive therapy days.

This extended stay supports deep physical detox, mental calmness, and long-lasting wellness benefits.

Overnight stay in Kovalam (Ayurveda resort).

Day 14:

Kovalam – Trivandrum Departure

(Approx. 15 km / 30 minutes)
