Overview

This 10-day Char Dham Yatra begins with Haridwar/Dehradun and a scenic drive to Barkot via Mussoorie. Further, trek from Janki Chatti/Phool Chatti to Yamunotri for darshan. Continue to Uttarkashi, visiting Shivgufa, and take blessings at Kashi Vishwanath Temple before a day trip to Gangotri via Gangnani (Garam Kund). Next, proceed to Sonprayag and start the trek to Kedarnath. Travel to Badrinath via Chopta Valley, attend evening aarti, and take a holy bath at Tapt Kund. Conclude with a visit to Dharidevi Temple, Devprayag confluence, and Rishikesh sightseeing. This package covers sightseeing, stays, and meals.

Itinerary Detail

Day 1:

Haridwar/Dehradun – Barkot (210 km/7–8 hours)

Arrive at Haridwar Railway Station or Dehradun Airport, meet the driver, and proceed towards Barkot via Mussoorie. En route, visit Mussoorie Lake and Kempty Falls (it is advisable to have lunch near Kempty Falls, as good dining options are limited ahead). On arrival, check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax and prepare for the Yamunotri trek. Further, have dinner and stay overnight in Barkot.

Note: Additional pick-up charges apply for Dehradun Railway Station pick-up or pick-up from a Dehradun hotel (if required).

Day 2:

Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (36 km drive + 6 km trek one way)

Early morning, drive to Janki Chatti/Phool Chatti and begin the trek to Yamunotri (on foot or by pony/doli at your own cost). On arrival, take a holy bath in the warm waters of Jamunabai Kund and proceed for Yamunaji darshan. You may offer puja at Divya Shila and carry prasad as per local tradition. Later, trek back to Janki Chatti and drive to Barkot. Further, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3:

Barkot – Uttarkashi (90 km/4 hours)

Post breakfast, check out and drive to Uttarkashi. En route, visit Shivgufa. On arrival, proceed for darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Temple and visit Shakti Temple. Check in at the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Further, have dinner and stay overnight in Uttarkashi.

Day 4:

Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100 km/3–4 hours each way)

Start early, have breakfast and proceed towards Gangotri. En route, stop at Gangnani for a holy dip in Garam Kund, then continue via the scenic Harsil Valley. On arrival at Gangotri, take a sacred dip in the river (Bhagirathi at its origin) and perform puja and darshan. Later, drive back to Uttarkashi. Further, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5:

Uttarkashi – Guptkashi (220 km/8–9 hours)

After breakfast, drive to Guptkashi via Moolgarh and Lambgoan. En route, witness the Mandakini River at Tilwara and continue along the river valley. On arrival, visit Ardh Narishwar Temple and check in at the hotel. Further, have dinner and stay overnight in Guptkashi.

Day 6:

Guptkashi – Sonprayag – Kedarnath (30 km by road + 19 km trek)

Begin your day early and drive to Sonprayag. Complete biometric formalities before beginning the trek to Kedarnath. Pony/palki services can be hired on a direct payment basis. Carry personal medicines, heavy woollens, toiletries, and clothes for the overnight halt.

On reaching Kedarnath, proceed for Kedarnath Temple darshan (puja can be booked online or at the temple counter, subject to availability). An overnight stay will be arranged at a basic guesthouse within walking distance of the temple.

Day 7:

Kedarnath – Sonprayag – Guptkashi (19 km down trek + 30 km/1 hour)

Wake up before sunrise (around 04:00 AM), visit the temple for Abhishek pooja and morning darshan, a deeply reverential experience in the stillness of the hour. After darshan, have your breakfast and begin the trek down to Sonprayag. Meet the driver and proceed back to Guptkashi. Further, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 8:

Guptkashi – Badrinath (215 km/7 hours)

Post breakfast, drive to Badrinath via Chopta Valley, covering Nandprayag and Vishnuprayag en route. On arrival, check in at the hotel. If time permits, attend the evening aarti at Badrivishal Temple. Further, have dinner and stay overnight in Badrinath.

Day 9:

Badrinath – Joshimath – Rudraprayag (160 km/7 hours)

Begin with a holy bath at Tapt Kund, followed by Badrivishal darshan. Further, visit nearby attractions such as Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, Charanpaduka, Bhim Pul, and the Saraswati “Mukh” (time permitting). Later, drive to Rudraprayag via Joshimath (Narsingh Temple sighting on the way). On arrival, check in at the hotel. Further, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 10:

Rudraprayag – Dharidevi – Devprayag – Rishikesh – Drop(160 km/5 hours)

Post breakfast, check out and proceed towards Rishikesh. En route, visit Dharidevi Temple. Continue to Devprayag to witness the confluence that forms the holy River Ganga and visit Raghunath Temple. Further, upon reaching Rishikesh, proceed for sightseeing (subject to time), covering Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Triveni Ghat, Bharat Mandir, and Shivananda Ashram. Later, you will be dropped off at Dehradun Airport or Haridwar Railway Station for your onward journey. Tour ends.
