Itinerary Detail

Day 1:

Delhi → Haridwar (4 Hours)

Your Valley of Flowers & Hemkund Sahib journey begins as you arrive at Delhi Railway Station. Our representative greets you warmly and assists you with a comfortable drive to Haridwar. The route unfolds gradually from the cityscape into serene countryside views, offering a gentle transition into Uttarakhand’s pilgrimage belt.

Upon reaching Haridwar, check in to your hotel and freshen up. Later, step out to explore the sacred ghats and the town’s spiritual charm. In the evening, gather at the sacred Har-ki-Pauri to witness the world-famous Ganga Aarti. The rhythmic chanting, glowing diyas floating on the river, and the holy atmosphere create an unforgettable moment. After the ceremony, return to your hotel, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night.

Day 2:

Haridwar → Joshimath (8–9 Hours)

Begin early with breakfast and check out of your hotel as your scenic Himalayan journey continues toward Joshimath. The drive is one of the most beautiful routes in Uttarakhand, following the River Ganga and later the River Alaknanda.

En route, stop at the Panch Prayag confluences:

  • Devprayag: where the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers unite to form the Ganga
  • Rudraprayag: meeting point of Mandakini and Alaknanda
  • Karnprayag: confluence of Pindari and Alaknanda

Each confluence has its own mythological significance and beautiful viewpoints that offer excellent photo opportunities.

By late afternoon, arrive in Joshimath, a peaceful hill town and an important base for trekking routes. Check in, relax, and explore the local market or visit places like Narsingh Temple or Shankaracharya Math (time permitting). Overnight stay in Joshimath.

Day 3:

Joshimath → Govindghat → Trek to Ghangaria

After breakfast, drive to Govindghat, the starting point of your trek. The trail from Govindghat to Ghangaria follows the picturesque Pushpawati River, offering views of pine forests, charming wooden bridges, small waterfalls, and tiny local villages.

The trek is moderate and filled with natural beauty—ideal for photography and taking short breaks at tea shops and maggi stalls along the way. You can also hire ponies or porters if needed.

Upon reaching Ghangaria, check in to your hotel or guesthouse. The small village is surrounded by oak and deodar forests and serves as the base for both Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers treks. Spend the evening relaxing, exploring the tiny bazaar, or simply enjoying the cool mountain breeze. Overnight stay in Ghangaria.

Day 4:

Ghangaria → Hemkund Sahib → Ghangaria (12 km Trek)

Wake up early for the challenging but spiritually rewarding trek to Hemkund Sahib, situated at an altitude of 4,329 meters. The trail is steep but incredibly scenic with views of snow-covered peaks, clear streams, and wildflowers blooming along the path.

As you ascend, the air becomes cooler and thinner. Upon reaching the revered Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, surrounded by a crystal-clear glacial lake, a deep sense of peace embraces you. Many devotees take a quick dip in the freezing lake as part of a spiritual ritual.

After offering prayers and enjoying a hot langar (community meal) served inside the Gurudwara, begin your descent back to Ghangaria. The return journey offers a different perspective of the valley and the surrounding mountains. Dinner and overnight stay in Ghangaria.

Day 5:

Ghangaria → Valley of Flowers → Ghangaria

This is the highlight of your trip. After an early breakfast, enter the Valley of Flowers National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The trail gently opens into a vast meadow of vibrant blossoms—blue poppies, anemones, brahmakamal, primulas, marigolds, orchids, and more. Snow-clad peaks form a striking backdrop while butterflies hover around clusters of wildflowers, creating a magical experience.

Spend ample time exploring:

  • The Pushpawati River bed
  • Colourful flower patches
  • Rare flora species unique to the Himalayas
  • Scenic viewpoints and bridges

If time permits, trek further inside the valley for even richer landscapes. After soaking in the beauty, return to Ghangaria for dinner and rest.

Day 6:

Ghangaria → Govindghat → Rudraprayag

Enjoy breakfast and prepare for the descent. Trek down from Ghangaria to Govindghat, retracing the path through lush greenery and flowing streams.

Your driver will be waiting at Govindghat to take you to Rudraprayag, a holy town named after Lord Shiva. The drive offers sweeping Himalayan views, charming villages, and refreshing mountain air.

Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Spend the evening at leisure or take a peaceful walk by the river. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.

Day 7:

Rudraprayag → Rishikesh → Haridwar

After breakfast, drive towards Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the World. Enjoy sightseeing that includes:

  • Ram Jhula
  • Laxman Jhula
  • Market areas
  • Ashrams and riverside viewpoints

The atmosphere here is vibrant yet serene, with cafes, temples, and river ghats adding to the charm. After exploring, continue your drive to Haridwar. Check in at the hotel and rest for the night.

Day 8:

Haridwar → Delhi (Departure)

After a leisurely breakfast, check out and visit a couple of temples in Haridwar if time permits. Later, begin your drive back to Delhi.
