4 Days Bhutan Overland Tour

Welcome to Bhutan, the magical Himalayan kingdom. Upon arrival at Paro Airport, a tour representative will meet and assist you with a comfortable transfer to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. 

The one-and-a-half-hour scenic drive will take you to a culturally rich metropolis. Upon reaching Thimphu, check in at the pre-booked hotel. The rest of the day is free to spend at leisure. Thimphu is home to many attractions, so if you like, you can explore the surrounding areas on your own. Alternatively, you can explore Bhutan’s streets to experience Bhutanese culture and taste local delicacies.

You can also visit local markets like ABC Bazar to buy traditional products.

Overnight stay in the Hotel in Thimphu.

You will spend the second day of your 4 days Bhutan tour sightseeing in Thimphu. Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and then check out.

The first stop is the Institute of Zorig Chusum, where students are being trained in 13 types of traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan. It is an amazing place to see the ancient craft skills of Bhutan. 

Next, you will visit the National Library and the Textile and Folk Heritage Museum. 

In the afternoon, you stop for lunch at one of the best food stalls in Thimphu. After that, visit King’s Memorial Chorten. The Chorten Memorial is one of Bhutan’s most popular tourist attractions. There is a revered Buddhist shrine within the milky white edifice. It has a golden pinnacle, and the house is dedicated to the third king of Bhutan, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.

Afterwards, you can visit the Government Handicrafts Emporium. You can browse through various traditional art forms, jewelry, textiles, thangka paintings, and much more.

After the day’s excursion in Thimphu, start your journey to Paro in the evening. Upon reaching Paro, check into your hotel and rest.

After a refreshing breakfast, you get to explore Paro. 

It is regarded as Bhutan’s most beautiful place. Its peaceful environment allows visitors to experience nature at its best. The contrast between traditional wooden structures and concrete structures adds a unique charm to the valley.

First, you will head to Ta Dzong. It is a conch-shaped fortress built on the banks of the River Mangde, also known as the National Museum. Ta Dzong, once a watchtower and now a museum, exhibits antique and traditional artifacts, paintings, weapons, etc.

After exploring this, you will visit Rinpung Dzong, which means fortress of jewels. It is decorated with vibrant paintings that depict a variety of Bhutanese tales. The Rinpung Dzong was constructed in 1644 and serves as the district’s administrative center. 

Later in the day, head to the Drukgyel Dzong. This UNESCO World Heritage site features a ruined fortress that tells the tale of warriors who fought against Tibetan invaders. On the way, you stop at the Kyichu Lhakhang Temple. This is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Bhutan, built in the 7th century. 

Also, if you have time and energy, you can visit Taktsang Monastery and Cheri Lang Monastery. In the evening, head back to your hotel for dinner and sleep.

This is the last day of your 3 nights 4 days Bhutan tour. It’s time to say goodbye, so pack your bags, have breakfast at the hotel, and check out. Once you have checked out, an assisted transfer will be provided to the airport for your onward journey.
