Itinerary Detail

Day 1:

Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, our tour representative will meet you and transfer you to your pre-booked hotel. 

After arriving at the hotel, complete the check-in process and enjoy the unparalleled tranquility of Kathmandu, nestled in the Himalayas. In the evening, you can stroll the local markets and shop for Nepalese handicrafts.

Enjoy your scrumptious dinner at the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 2:

Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

The second day of your Nepal-Bhutan tour will be spent exploring Kathmandu. Following breakfast, head to Swayambhunath Stupa. Also known as Monkey Temple, it is one of the largest and most sacred stupas in Nepal, standing as a symbol of the country’s cultural harmony.

Next, visit the Kumari temple, which is known as the temple of the living goddess. This temple, built with wooden carvings, worships Devi Durga in the name of Goddess Kumari.

Afterward, you’ll visit Kopan Monastery, which is situated on the beautiful Kopan Hills. People from across the globe visit the temple to learn about Mahayana Buddhism.

Following that, you will visit Hanuman Dhoka, which was named after an ancient Hanuman statue. Lastly, you can explore Durbar Square, a lively spot with many Nepalese architectural wonders. 

After the sightseeing, return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3:

Kathmandu – Pokhara (200 km/6.5 hours)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and leave for Pokhara by road. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, Pokhara is regarded as the tourist capital of Nepal. This is the viewpoint of the Annapurna mountain range.

Upon arrival, you will be escorted to your pre-booked hotel. Complete the check-in process, refresh yourself, and enjoy some downtime.

After that, you’ll go sightseeing in Pokhara. First, take a trip to the picturesque Phewa Lake to rejuvenate your soul.

Next, visit the Peace Temple and get in touch with nature and Buddhist culture. Next, you’ll visit the International Mountain Museum to see mountaineering artifacts, gear, photographs, and documents about mountains and explorers.

Then go for a nature walk along the bank of Begnas Lake. Take a boat ride on the lake and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Next, visit the Gupteshwar Mahadev temple, Nepal’s most extensive cave temple. It was built in the 16th century and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. 

Visit Poon Hill in the evening to see a spectacular sunset from its altitude of 3210 metres.

After sightseeing, return to your hotel and spend the night there.

Day 4:

Pokhara – Chitwan (159 km/4.5 hours)

Finish your breakfast and check out of the hotel. Our representative will take you to Chitwan by road.

Upon arrival, check into the forest lodge and get ready for an exciting excursion to Chitwan National Park. 

This park is home to a wide variety of birds, mammals, and reptiles. You can take a jungle safari in the open-roof hood jeep for a closer view of the wildlife. The park is home to Royal Bengal Tigers, one-horned rhinos, leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, and more. 

After exploring the park, return to your forest lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5:

Chitwan National Park

On the 5th day of your Nepal-Bhutan tour, you will explore Chitwan National Park. Get your breakfast done early, and you will be taken to the park.

You can ride an elephant in the park to explore the park’s excellent flora and fauna up close. Spot famous plants like rosewood, elephant apple, rhino apple tree, etc., in the park. 

Also, visit the nearby villages to experience the local lifestyle. Learn about the colorful Tharu culture and dance. In the evening, you will be taken back to your lodge for a delicious dinner and a comfortable stay.

Day 6:

Chitwan – Kathmandu (185 km/6 hours)

Morning is the perfect time for birdwatching. Wake up early, and head to the park to spot a variety of bird species.

Here you can spot white-throated kingfishers, Brahmin ducks, blossom-headed parakeets, goosanders, and large flocks of bar-headed geese. Some seasonal birds can also be spotted in the park. 

Return to the lodge and have your breakfast. Following your breakfast, our representative will take you by road to Kathmandu.

Upon arrival at the hotel, check in and spend the remainder of the day at your leisure.

Day 7:

Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

Day 7 of your Nepal-Bhutan tour is dedicated to sightseeing in Kathmandu. This morning, you will visit the world-famous Pashupatinath Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Each year, devotees flock to the temple in order to seek blessings.

The temple complex also houses many small temples dedicated to Goddess Parvati, Lord Ram, Lord Ganesh, Goddess Lakshmi, etc., in the temple complex. Enjoy the unmatched harmony of cultural and spiritual vibes. 

In the afternoon, visit the sacred Tibetan Buddhist Gompa Boudhanath Stupa. Once you’ve explored the city, return to your hotel for dinner and a peaceful night’s sleep.

Day 8:

Kathmandu – Paro (by flight)

This morning you will leave Kathmandu and reach Paro by air. This city in Bhutan is home to sacred places and colorful shops. You will fly across famous peaks like Mt Everest, Kanchenjunga, and Makalu.  This is one of the highlights of our Nepal-Bhutan tour package, which attracts travelers from all over the world.

On arrival, our tour representative will transfer you to the hotel. Upon check-in, you can spend the rest of the day on your own.

Day 9:

Paro

This morning, after breakfast, get ready for the Paro city tour. First, visit the Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. This architectural marvel in Paro has great religious significance.

Next, visit the Ta Dzong, the national museum regarded as the pride of Paro. Discover the great collection of art pieces, animal masks, paintings, and artifacts that embody Bhutan’s rich culture and traditions.

After that, pay homage at Rinpung Dzong. Here, you will find many paintings depicting Buddha’s life. During the evening, when the lights are on, it looks stunning.

In the evening, visit a traditional farmhouse to experience the wonderful blend of modern and traditional Bhutanese culture. 

Afterwards, return to your hotel for dinner and a peaceful sleep.

Day 10:

Paro – Punakha (114 km/3.1 hours)

Start the day by visiting the Drukgyel Dzong, a memorial built in 1649 to mark the victory of Bhutan over Tibet. Enjoy the panoramic view of the surroundings and head to Kyichu Lhakhang. This is a scenic place where you will find absolute serenity.

Thereafter, head to Punakha by road. On your way, enjoy the breathtaking view of the snow-clad mountains from Dochula Pass. On arrival, check in at the hotel and take some rest. In the evening, you can explore the local markets. Afterward, have a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel in Punakha.

Day 11:

Punakha – Wangdue Phodrang – Thimphu (82 km/2.4 hours)

Today you will leave for Thimphu via Wangdue Phodrang. The scenic valley of Wangdue Phodrang is spotted with charming villages, monasteries, and temples. Visit the Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the ‘Fertility Temple’, to witness the traditional and cultural Bhutanese ceremonies. 

Next, visit the beautiful Phobjikha Valley. This is one of the most beautiful glacial valleys in the country and is a perfect getaway for nature and adventure lovers. The place is also flocked by migrating birds during the winter. 

Your next stop is Gangteng Monastery, nestled on the top of a hill. This monastery is related to Saint Pema Lingpa, who introduced Buddhism in Bhutan.

Thereafter, continue your journey to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. On arrival, check in at the hotel and have your dinner.

Day 12:

Thimphu Sightseeing Tour

Day 12 is reserved for a sightseeing tour in Thimphu. Start the day by visiting the Tashichho Dzong on the western bank of the Wang Chu. This is a famous fortress and Buddhist monastery that now serves as the king’s office. 

Next, head to the national library of Bhutan. Here you can see the ancient manuscripts, paintings depicting the historical events, and many Bhutanese and Tibetan texts. 

Then, you will head to the tallest monument in Bhutan, the Memorial Chorten. Here you will get an insight into Buddhism through various artworks, sculptures, and wall carvings.

Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel in Thimphu.

Day 13:

Thimphu – Phuentsholing (145 km/3.7 hours)

This morning, after breakfast, you will leave for Phuentsholing, a commercial hub situated on the border of Bhutan and the Indian state of Sikkim. The place is also famous for modern architectural buildings. On arrival, check in at the hotel and take some rest. 

Then, visit the Zangtho Pelri Lhakhang, a small temple dedicated to Guru Rinpoche. Also, visit Kharbandi Gompa, where you can witness the panoramic view of the Phuentsholing town as well as the plains of West Bengal. After sightseeing, return to the hotel for dinner and stay overnight in Phuentsholing.

Day 14:

Phuentsholing – Siliguri (148 km/3.8 hours)

Today is the last day of the 14-day Nepal-Bhutan tour. After breakfast, complete the check-out from the hotel and head to Siliguri. On arrival, get transferred to the airport to catch a flight for your onward journey.
