Halcyon Castle is often known as Kovalam Palace too. It was built in 1932 by M.R. Sri Rama Varma at Valiya Koil Thampuran. The traditional architecture and expansive lawns emerged as highlights of the palace. In 1964, the owner sold it to the Kerala government, eventually turning it into a hotel. Years later, it was sold to a private resort group. Over the years, there have been different owners of Halcyon. And today, it is a popular attraction of Kovalam.
