The Film City, situated in Mumbai’s Aarey Colony and spanning an immense 520 acres, contains roughly twenty indoor studios and is frequently referred to as the birthplace of Bollywood. The area is so big that 1,000 movie sets could be built there. It has served as the backdrop for several Bollywood movies over the years. Almost 900 films and numerous television episodes have been filmed here. Film City History

Under the exact direction of renowned veteran actor, director, and film producer V. Shantaram, The Film City was constructed in 1911. It was the vision of Dada Sahib Phalke, a well-known cinema personality, whose initiative was to build the city and give it his name. Over 900 movies and television episodes have been filmed here, further emphasizing this location’s importance.

Timings: The Film City studios are open for general tourist visits from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Film City Ticket Booking and Cost: The tickets for the film city’s guided Bollywood dream tour cost INR 599. The cost of a 5-hour Mumbai Film City Tour is INR 1699. The combination tour costs INR 1099. Half day Bollywood tours cost INR 6000.

The ideal time to travel is from November through February. However, tours in the morning are advised because the weather is typically better then.

How to reach Film City Mumbai

One of India’s leading tourist destinations, Mumbai offers a variety of transportation options. Taking a local train on the Western Line from Churchgate station to Goregaon station is the best method to get to Film City. In addition, you can take a rickshaw from Goregaon to Film City. You can also hire a cab and have it drop you off outside Film City’s entrance. There are additional buses that go to Goregaon.
