Shirdi, “The Place of the Guru,” is Gurusthan. Sai Baba stayed in Shirdi for the majority of his first trip there. As a result, Gurusthan is a significant location in Shirdi. Baba claims that his own Guru’s Samadhi takes the shape of a neem tree. Just beyond the neem tree, some bricks were buried in the ground and appeared to be a tunnel when some villagers dug around. When they opened the tunnel, they were surprised to see lamps lit and the area resembling a previous stay. The locals contacted Baba for advice, and Baba advised them not to harm the location because it belonged to his forefathers.

Main attraction of the place

The enormous neem tree is the focus of the Gurusthan. Neem trees often have bitter leaves, but the ones at Gurusthan have sweet ones. So for a few years, Baba found safety behind this tree.

Connection of Neem tree and Gurusthan

One neem tree-related tale exemplifies Sai Baba’s practicality and common sense. After Baba relocated to Dwarakamai in the early 1900s, a long limb from a tree prevented the building of Sathe Wada. No one wants to remove it since it became frightened by Baba’s presence beneath it. Baba responded to the villagers’ request for advice by saying, “Cut off, but continue with the construction, even if there is a baby in the mother’s womb.” No one dared cut the branch after Baba spoke these things. Baba ultimately scaled the tree and cut the stem.

Best Time to Visit

The monsoon season (June to September) and the winter months (June to February) are the best times to visit Shirdi (October to February). Most people travel to Shirdi for religious reasons, mainly to pray at the well-known Shirdi Sai Baba Temple. However, tourists can still enjoy the weather throughout these months.
