Kaziranga National Park in Assam is World Heritage Site and it is famous for world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds.
This is the oldest National Park in Assam and covers 430 sq. kms along the river Brahmaputra on north and Karbi Anglong hills on the South. The landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, rugged reeds, marshes, tall elephant grass and shallow pools.
The National highway passes through the park and tea estates. Tourists can take rides on elephants to move around the park, take a jeep safari or cruise in a boat on the Brahmaputra along the park.
