Pondicherry is known to be the place where numerous Saints and Siddhas had attained salvation. And so, it rightly becomes the venue of International Yoga festival. In this serene, beautiful spiritual land, 2 world-popular Yoga Institutions (the International Centre for Yoga Education and Research or the Ananda Ashram and the Aurobindo Ashram) and a number of research works are being conducted on yoga.
Since 1992, the Government of Puducherry has been organizing the International Yoga Festival. This year 22nd International Yoga Festival will be organized from January 4th to 7th, 2024. The Government received great response and eagerness from participants from all around the globe and country and so, this festival is being held, every year. This festival fascinates Yogis and Yoginis from the around, working towards the development of the conscious process at all the levels-mental, physical, spiritual and emotional as well as bring in fulfillment in all the aspect of life.
This year, over 500 delegates from India and the world will be participating in lectures / workshops and presenting demonstration, which are a part of the International Yoga Festival. Talks, live shows, Indian dance and music, and displayed samples of various yogic food keep the art of Yoga alive and thriving.
The Program
The registration of delegates of the festival will held on 4th January 2024 at Subhalakshmi Mahal, M.G. Road, Muthialpet, Puducherry – 03. On the same, in the evening, an official inauguration followed by a cultural program will be organized in the premises of Old Port, Beach Road. The program of the festival comprises of workshops on different topics such as Yoga and Yogasana competitions for people of varied age groups for men as well as women, Lecture/Demonstrations and Cultural Programs from 5th to 7th January. One of the most popular features of the festival is the final round of Yogasana Competitions and Champion of the Meet, which is organized in the morning on 7th January. The Prize distribution and farewell ceremony is organized in the evening.
In the overall the festival aims at the development of the conscious process at physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels and completeness in every aspects of life.

How to apply?
Delegates who are interest in participating in the different programs, discussions and lectures can apply through ‘on line registration’ or can Download the application form, then sending it to the assigned address. Make sure that you fill the correct age as verification will be done at the venue.
The online registration and applications by post is interim and it is important that participants must come in person at the venue (Subhalakshmi Mahal on 4th Jan 2024) for confirmation and collection of their Registration kit. Accommodation will be arranged for the participants on 4th January. The date and time of the Workshops/Demonstrations will be provided with the Registration kit.
During the festival, free of cost boarding and lodging will be provided to the delegates. However, the observers will have to make their own arrangement. If you are a participant who stays in Pondicherry, no accommodation will be provided to you. There is no compensation for travel allowance and daily allowance.

How to reach Pondicherry
By Air
The nearest airport to Pondicherry is Chennai International Airport (150km).
By Rail
The nearest railhead is Villupuram (40 km), connecting to Chennai, Madurai and Thiruvanathapuram. The other option is to take a train from Bangalore to Cuddalore and then arrive in Pondicherry by road.
By Road
Pondicherry is very well-connected by road with Chennai (150 km), Bangalore (320 km) and Kerala (477 km). Regular buses are available from the Tamil Nadu State Express Bus Stand, Chennai to Pondy (National Highway 45, East Coast road). The Pondicherry Tourism Development Corporation run buses are available for Chennai.
