Departure: Cochin

  • The next morning, after breakfast, check out and begin the scenic drive to Munnar through the Western Ghats.

  • Relax at the resort or take a quiet walk along the waterfront.

Departure: Kumarakom

  • Have breakfast, then drive to Alleppey to board a traditional Kerala houseboat.

Best fit: October to March, when the weather is more comfortable for Cochin sightseeing, Munnar, Periyar wildlife experiences, and backwater cruising in Kumarakom and Alleppey.

Also possible: June to September can work well for travellers who enjoy Kerala’s monsoon scenery, greener landscapes and fewer crowds. Keep some flexibility in the itinerary, as heavy rain can occasionally affect road journeys and outdoor activities.

Avoid: April to May can feel hot and humid in Cochin, Kumarakom and Alleppey, especially for travellers sensitive to heat. Munnar remains comparatively cooler because of its higher elevation.
