By Air
Fly to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), the main gateway for travellers from India. Choose your onward transfer according to your arrival terminal, hotel location and luggage.
Flying to Changi Airport is the simplest way to reach Singapore from India. After arrival, continue to your hotel by train, taxi or a pre-booked transfer. If Singapore is part of a Malaysia trip, road and cross-border rail options may also fit your route.
Arrival overview
Fly to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), the main gateway for travellers from India. Choose your onward transfer according to your arrival terminal, hotel location and luggage.
There is no direct train from India. Travellers arriving through Malaysia can use the Shuttle Tebrau between JB Sentral and Woodlands Train Checkpoint, then continue into the city.
Coaches and permitted vehicles connect Malaysia with Singapore through the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints. Border queues can add time, especially during weekends and holidays.
Most practical first-time route
For a first visit, fly to Changi and head to your hotel before starting sightseeing. The MRT suits travellers with manageable luggage, while a taxi or arranged transfer can be simpler with children or several bags. Check public transport hours if your flight arrives late.
Route details
Book a flight to Changi Airport (SIN), using a direct or connecting service that suits your departure city. Check the full journey time and baggage conditions when comparing fares. Changi has several terminals, so confirm where you arrive and where to meet your driver or reach public transport.
Singapore has no direct rail connection with India. If you are already in Johor Bahru, the Shuttle Tebrau runs between JB Sentral and Woodlands Train Checkpoint. Book for the correct crossing and allow time for immigration. Woodlands Train Checkpoint is not the same as Woodlands MRT station; onward transport is needed.
Road arrivals from Malaysia use the Causeway at Woodlands or the Second Link at Tuas. Coaches can suit a combined holiday, but the border crossing makes arrival times variable. Check the coach drop-off point before booking. A road journey from India is not a practical substitute for flying on a standard Singapore holiday.

Singapore Season Questions
Flying to Changi Airport is the easiest option for most travellers. Compare direct and connecting flights for your dates, then arrange a transfer that suits your arrival time and hotel location.
Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) is the main international gateway for a holiday from India. Check your terminal when arranging a meeting point or onward transport.
There is no direct train from India. If your route includes Malaysia, you can travel from JB Sentral to Woodlands Train Checkpoint on the Shuttle Tebrau, subject to ticket availability and entry requirements.
Options include the MRT, taxis, private-hire cars and arranged transfers. The airport MRT station serves Terminals 2 and 3. For central Singapore, change at Tanah Merah or Expo according to your route; other terminals require a terminal transfer.
Check passport validity and whether your nationality requires a visa on Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority website. Unless exempt, submit the SG Arrival Card within three days before arrival, including the arrival date. The arrival card does not replace a visa.
Heavy showers can slow road journeys, while queues at the Malaysia–Singapore checkpoints may be lengthy during busy periods. Leave extra time if a cross-border journey connects with a flight or another fixed departure.
Choose your arrival airport first, then compare Singapore itineraries that make the most of your route and available time.
