Itinerary Detail

Day 1:

Delhi – Guwahati

Arrive in Guwahati, the gateway to Northeast India, by flight from Delhi. Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport, meet our representative and proceed with a smooth private transfer to your hotel. After check-in, take some time to freshen up and relax after your journey.

Post lunch, head out for a Brahmaputra River Cruise, one of the most serene ways to experience Assam’s natural landscape. As the cruise glides along the mighty river, enjoy views of river islands, traditional fishing boats, riverside settlements and changing hues of the sky during sunset. This relaxed introduction sets the tone for your wildlife-focused journey through the Northeast.

Later, visit the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the most important Shakti Peethas in India and a key spiritual landmark in many Assam tour packages. Perched atop Nilachal Hill, the temple is deeply associated with Tantric traditions and holds immense cultural and religious significance.

Return to the hotel in the evening and unwind.

Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 2:

Guwahati – Manas National Park

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Manas National Park, located along the Assam–Bhutan border. The scenic journey passes through rural Assamese villages, forest belts, tea gardens and river crossings, offering glimpses of everyday life in the Brahmaputra plains.

On arrival, check into your jungle lodge set amidst forested surroundings near the park boundary. The rest of the day is kept free to relax, acclimatise to the natural environment and enjoy the peaceful riverine landscape that defines Manas.

Evening at leisure amid the sounds of the forest.

Overnight stay near Manas National Park, a highlight of many Northeast wildlife tours.

Day 3:

Manas National Park – Wildlife Safaris

After an early breakfast, set out to explore Manas National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve known for its diverse habitats—grasslands, riverine forests and dense woodlands.

Begin with a jeep safari, covering forest trails and open grasslands where wildlife sightings vary with season and movement. Manas is home to rare species such as the Golden Langur, Pygmy Hog, elephants, wild buffalo and a wide variety of birds.

Later, enjoy an elephant safari (subject to forest department permissions and availability), which allows close-range wildlife viewing in quieter zones of the park. This slow-paced experience offers a unique perspective of the jungle ecosystem.

Return to the lodge by afternoon. The evening is free to relax and soak in the forest ambience.

Overnight stay near Manas National Park.

Day 4:

Manas National Park – Orang National Park

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Orang National Park, often referred to as the “Mini Kaziranga” of Assam due to its similar grassland ecosystem. Located on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra River, Orang is known for one-horned rhinoceroses, wild buffalo, elephants and wetland bird species.

On arrival, check into your lodge and relax after the drive. The quieter environment of Orang offers a less-crowded wildlife experience compared to larger parks.

Evening at leisure.

Overnight stay near the Orang National Park.

Day 5:

Orang National Park – Nameri National Park

Early morning wildlife exploration in Orang National Park (subject to forest permissions), followed by breakfast at the lodge. Later, begin your drive to Nameri National Park, located along the Jia Bhoroli River at the foothills of Arunachal Pradesh.

The journey introduces changing landscapes—from grasslands and wetlands to riverine forests and forested foothills. On arrival in Nameri, check into your eco-lodge surrounded by nature.

The remainder of the day is ideal for short nature walks and birdwatching near the riverbanks.

Overnight stay near Nameri National Park, a favourite among birding-focused Assam wildlife tours.

Day 6:

Nameri National Park

After breakfast, explore Nameri National Park, known for its riverine forests, orchids and birdlife, including the rare White-winged Duck. Unlike larger parks, Nameri offers a more intimate wildlife experience through guided activities.

Activities today may include forest trekking, river-edge walks and optional rafting on the Jia Bhoroli River (subject to season, water levels and safety regulations). These experiences allow you to observe flora, bird species and forest ecology up close.

Return to the lodge by evening.

Overnight stay near Nameri National Park.

Day 7:

Nameri National Park – Kaziranga National Park

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Kaziranga National Park, one of India’s most celebrated wildlife reserves and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On arrival, check into your resort and relax after the journey. Evening is kept free to unwind and prepare for upcoming safari experiences.

Overnight stay near Kaziranga National Park, a flagship destination in many Indian wildlife tour packages.

Day 8:

Kaziranga National Park – Wildlife Safaris

Early morning elephant safari, one of the best ways to observe wildlife in Kaziranga’s tall elephant grass zones. This experience offers exceptional chances to spot the iconic one-horned rhinoceros, along with swamp deer and grazing wild buffalo.

After breakfast, proceed for a jeep safari across one of Kaziranga’s designated ranges, covering wetlands, forest patches and grasslands that support rich biodiversity, including elephants, birds and, occasionally, tigers.

Return to the resort by afternoon. Evening at leisure.

Overnight stay near Kaziranga National Park Lodge.

Day 9:

Kaziranga – Dibru Saikhowa Wildlife Sanctuary

After breakfast, drive towards Dibru Saikhowa Wildlife Sanctuary, a unique riverine ecosystem formed by the Brahmaputra and Dibru rivers.

On arrival, check into your lodge near the sanctuary. The area is known for wetlands, grasslands and river islands, offering a different ecological setting compared to earlier parks.

Overnight stay near Dibru Saikhowa Wildlife Sanctuary.

Day 10:

Dibru Saikhowa Wildlife Sanctuary

After breakfast, explore Dibru Saikhowa, famous for migratory birds, semi-wild horses and wetland biodiversity. Get the chance to spot wildlife like white horses, Indian elephants, royal Bengal tigers, leopards, and clouded leopards. In addition, you can also spot hoolock gibbon, wild buffalo, white-winged wood duck, Bengal florican, and the spotted billed pelican.

Activities may include boat rides, wetland walks and birdwatching sessions, depending on river conditions and season. The sanctuary is particularly rewarding for bird enthusiasts and photographers.

Return to the lodge by evening.

Overnight stay near Dibru Saikhowa.

Day 11:

Dibru Saikhowa – Debang Valley – Dibru Saikhowa

After breakfast, proceed towards Debang Valley, a lesser-explored birdwatching destination known for its pristine landscape and rare avian species.

Spend time observing birdlife and understanding the wetland ecosystem before returning to Dibru Saikhowa by evening.

Overnight stay near Dibru Saikhowa.

Day 12:

Dibru Saikhowa – Namdapha National Park

After breakfast, drive to Namdapha National Park in Arunachal Pradesh, one of India’s largest and most remote tiger reserves.

The journey takes you deeper into the Eastern Himalayas, with increasingly rugged terrain and forest cover. On arrival, check into your forest lodge and rest.

Overnight stay near Namdapha National Park.

Day 13:

Namdapha National Park

After breakfast, explore Namdapha National Park, known for dense rainforests, river valleys and exceptional biodiversity. The park supports multiple big cat species, primates and rare birds (spot as many as 425 bird species), making it a critical conservation zone.

Activities include guided forest treks and wildlife observation walks, conducted under local expertise and forest guidelines.
