A 5 Nights / 6 Days itinerary for Darjeeling Kalimpong Gangtok Tour.

  • Arrive at Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, where our tour representative will meet you.
  • Proceed by road to Gangtok and check in at your pre-booked hotel.
  • Spend the remaining time at leisure.

Departure: Gangtok

  • After breakfast, leave for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake, located in the high-altitude region near Gangtok.
  • Spend some time around the lake before continuing to Baba Mandir.
  • Later, return to Gangtok and spend the rest of the day at leisure or explore the local markets.

Departure: Gangtok

  • he next day, after breakfast, begin a half-day sightseeing tour of Gangtok.
  • Visit the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handlooms, Research Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten, Enchey Monastery and Flower Exhibition Centre.
  • Later, drive to Kalimpong, approximately 77 km from Gangtok.
  • On arrival, check in at the hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

Departure: Kalimpong

  • Start your day with breakfast, then proceed for sightseeing in Kalimpong.
  • Visit Deolo Hill, Hanuman Mandir and Dr. Graham’s Homes.
  • Continue to Durpin Monastery, Mangal Dham and Pine View Nursery.
  • Later, drive approximately 48 km to Darjeeling and check in at the hotel.
  • Spend the evening exploring the local markets at your own pace.

Departure: Darjeeling

  • Arise early with a drive to Tiger Hill for sunrise views and, on a clear day, views of the Kanchenjunga range.
  • On the way back, visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop and the Gorkha War Memorial.
  • Return to the hotel for breakfast before continuing with the Darjeeling sightseeing tour.
  • Visit Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Peace Pagoda and Passenger Ropeway.

  • Have breakfast and check out from the hotel.
  • Drive from Darjeeling towards Siliguri.
  • Transfer to Bagdogra Airport, New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus as per your onward travel arrangements.

Best fit: March to May and October to November, when the weather is generally comfortable for sightseeing in Gangtok, Kalimpong, and Darjeeling, with better conditions for hill views and outdoor visits.

Also possible: December to February can suit travellers comfortable with colder weather. Gangtok, Kalimpong and Darjeeling remain accessible, though snow and weather conditions can affect the Tsomgo Lake excursion.

Avoid: July and August receive heavy monsoon rainfall. Hill roads can face landslides, poor visibility and travel delays, making sightseeing and intercity transfers less predictable.

  • Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir fall within a permit-controlled area. Carry valid ID and complete the required permit formalities before the excursion.
  • Permit conditions can differ for Indian and foreign nationals, so check them before confirming the sightseeing plan.
  • Tsomgo Lake is located at high altitude. Dress warmly and avoid excessive physical exertion if you feel uncomfortable at altitude.
  • Tiger Hill views depend on weather and visibility; clear views of Kanchenjunga cannot be guaranteed.
  • Hill-road travel times can vary because of traffic, weather and road conditions.
  • Ropeway and other sightseeing attractions may temporarily close due to weather, maintenance, or operational reasons.
