Best Time to Visit for Bagini Glacier Trek

The best time to travel to Bagini Glacier Trek is in the summers, from May to June and post-monsoon from September to mid-October. The cold yet comfortable weather of the region in the summer season makes the trek comfortable. In a post-monsoon season as well, the vibrant environment adds charm to the trek. During the rainy season and in winters, the trek is not possible due to harsh climatic conditions that are not favorable for an excursion.

Bagini Glacier Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Haridwar Railway Station – Joshimath

On your arrival at Haridwar, meet our tour guide and get transferred to Joshimath in a cab. Night stay at Joshimath.

Day 2: Joshimath – Jumma (45 km via jeep) – Ruing Village (2,800 m / around 3 km trek)

Today, from Joshimath, you drive to Jumma. On reaching arrival, indulge in a 3 km trek to Ruing Village, which is located at an altitude of 2,800 m. Overnight stay at Jumma.

Day 3: Ruing Village – Dronagiri Village (3,610, around 8 km trek)

On the third day of the Bagini Glacier Trek tour, continue your trek from Ruing Village to Dronagiri Village (3,610 m), which is approximately 8 km. A night stay is scheduled in Dronagiri Village.

Day 4: Dronagiri Village – Bagini Base Camp (4,484 m, roughly 10 km trek)

Today, start your trek from Dronagiri Village to Bagini base camp. The base camp is settled 10 km away at the height of 4,484 m. Overnight stay at Bagini base camp.

Day 5: Bagini Base Camp – Changabang Base Camp via Bagini Glacier – Bagini Base Camp (total around 12 – 14 km trek)

On the fifth day, from Bagini base camp you will start a trek to Bagini Glacier and further to Changabang base camp. Enjoy the scenic surroundings and start your return trek to Bagini base camp. Overall, you have to cover 12 – 14 km. Night stay at Bagini base camp.

Day 6: Bagini base camp – Ruing Village

Start your trek back to Ruing Village from Bagini base camp. It is an 18 km trek. Overnight stay at Ruing Village.

Day 7: Ruing Village – Jumma (3 km trek) – Joshimath (45 km / around 1-hour drive)

From Ruing Village, continue your return trek to Jumma, only 3 km. On reaching Jumma, get transferred to Joshimath in a jeep.

Day 8: Joshimath – Haridwar (278 km / roughly 6-7 hours)

On the eighth and last day, start your road trip from Joshimath and travel straight away to Haridwar in a bus/car.
