Surajkund village gets its name from the popular artificial lake, Surajkund. The village is an amazing getaway for the tourists looking for a peaceful vacation. In the month of February is advisable to visit as the popular Surajkund Fair is organized every year. The fair showcases unique colors of celebration and joy. The lake is also praised for its tranquility and the embankment that is designed in the form of amphitheater.  

How to Reach Surajkund from Delhi

By Train

New Delhi is the nearest railway station. From train, there are taxis and cabs available on hire to reach Surajkund.

By Air

IGI Airport (Delhi) is the nearest airport, located at a distance of 28 km, to reach Surajkund. At the airport, one can find private taxis and cabs to fetch visitors from airport to the village.

By Road

To reach Surajkund, the Mathura Road connects Delhi with the stretch of 38 km. self-owned vehicle or private taxi or cab on hire is advisable if travelling in groups. There also is bus service available from Delhi.

 

Attractions in Surajkund

Surajkund Lake

The beautiful circular artificial lake, which is praised for its unspoilt serenity. The Aravalli range in the backdrop also enhances the beauty of the lake. The lake was built by Suraj Pal (Tomar King) to worship God Sun since 10th century.

Surajkund Fair

Every year from 1st-15th February, there is very popular Surajkund Fair organized in the backdrop of the lake. The fair started in the 1987 and till date is flocked by various visitors from every all across. The Mela features unique artifacts, furniture, colorful clothing, and a lot more.
