Amarnath Yatra 2026 to Begin on 2nd July

The dates for the much-awaited Annual Amarnath Yatra 2026 have been finally announced. The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) confirmed that the Amarnath Yatra in 2026 will begin on July 2, 2026, on Masik Shivaratri, as per the Hindu calendar, and conclude on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) on August 9, after 39 days. The meeting of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) was chaired by the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, NN Vohra, who also serves as the chairman of SASB. The duration and dates for the Yatra were decided after discussions with the advisory board, the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Committee.

To ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims, the board has decided that a limited number of pilgrims will be allowed to register for the Amarnath Yatra on a day-by-route basis. Tourists who wish to visit Amarnath by helicopter can opt for our Amarnath Yatra from Baltal by helicopter package. There would be about 15,000 pilgrims on the tracks every day. Therefore, the Board has decided that the registration process should commence on April 14, 2026.
