Dates for the much-awaited Annual Amarnath Pilgrimage have been finally declared. The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) confirmed that the Amarnath Yatra in 2023 would begin from June 30th on Massik Shivaratri as per the Hindu calendar and conclude on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) on August 31st after 62 days.
The meeting of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) was headed by the Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, NN Vohra, also the chairman of SASB. The duration and dates for the Yatra were decided after discussions with the advisory board, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Committee.
To ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims, the board has decided that only 7,500 pilgrims would be allowed to register for the Amarnath Yatra per day per-route basis.
“There would be about 16,000 pilgrims on the tracks every day. Therefore, the Board has further decided that the registration process should commence on April 17, 2023.
